That's interesting! Didn't know you could adjust it but it makes sense cause you can adjust the mouse. I'll have to google and see where it might be...probably in the control panel (if I can find that) Each time they change software it becomes more of a challenge to find where things are!

Thanks!

Now that our New year is in full swing, holiday season has past, we can relax and spend more time being creative.

This week's challenge is to create a layout that includes flowers. I know your saying that's not something new? Well here's the thing I see so many layouts that are so beautiful because they are loaded up with... yep you guessed it flowers. I tend to pull back from using too many flowers (cough/ hoarder) but today, I challenge you to use as many as you can on your layout. I stacked them, and added pebbles and bling. I found it easier to just grab a bunch of colors and go to town. I used 16+ on my layout... woot! I'm excited to just let go and be creative. let's see how many you can add. I hope you will join in and add your flowers generously. Remember to upload to sbc11Jan gallery, and share your pages!

Sounds good Tam! I'm off to find the perfect picture and of course tons of flowers.

Hello, everyone! Well, I'm still iced in at home, for the 4th day in a row. My husband did finally make it in to work this morning, but then called back and advised me NOT to try it myself. He knows I can't drive on this stuff very well, and he said he knew I'd have a hard time with it, so STAY HOME! Okay, easily done (they closed the plant again where I work anyway), except I think I'm starting to develop a bit of cabin fever! I haven't left these premises since last Friday! That's almost a whole week! Eeeek! Of course, you'd think having been at home for a whole week, I'd have more to show for it! Ha ha!

Anyways, I did get another page done between last night and this morning. Here's #5 for the month for me: (Yahoo!)

Sweet Dreams

I'm feeling really good about how much I've got done this month so far, and it's all thanks to you all and this thread, so thank you thank you thank you! I'm feeling so confident in fact that I think I'm going to now think of a YEARLY goal instead. I said to myself I was going to just take it one month at a time, but now I'm thinking a yearly goal would be great to have. But, I'm going to think on it for a while before I set my number.

Now, I think I'm going to go clean up and maybe reorganize a bit in my craft space. After 5 pages and no clean ups, my desk is a mess! Plus, I feel like changing some things around. I got some things from my mom for Christmas to start quilting with her and I need to make room for that. I know, right? Like I need another hobby that's time consuming and has lots of bits and pieces to keep up with!

Thanks for the new challenge, Tam! I think I can do some flowers too! Most of my family are men, so flowers are "not allowed" on those layouts (so I've been instructed by them). But, I do have 2 little step grand daughters who's pages I can go flower-crazy on!

That is another thing I should do this winter! Paint my craft room!

Thanks everyone for your comments on my page. I am working on a two page LO now. Just have my pictures on the table trying to come up with something. Just saw the 52 week challenge. Going to go back and see if I can do a LO with flowers!

Most of the time I do books chronologically. What do you do?

Sharon - I scrap whatever my mojo feels inclined to scrap. Sometimes I'll see a sketch and know exactly what pics to scrap. They could be from any time frame. I have years to catch up on, so I try to do a little of current and a little of older. Right now I"m really wanting to scrap Christmas and snow pics. That may waiver as we hit the middle of February and I need to do some warmer layouts

Sure looks like you ladies have been busy!

Today was a fairly productive day but still no pages started. I forgot we have a Girl Scout meeting this Monday so I HAD to run to the GS store to get some badges/patches and their new books. I got back home around lunch and restarted cleaning the craft room which let to me rearranging part of my room; I think it's going to work out much better too, so that's a good thing Just have a few more sections to do and should be good to go for scrapping tomorrow!

I finished two layouts this week, and that may be it for a while for me, because we're moving tomorrow! Woohoo! Escrow finally closed and we get the keys to our new house tonight. I'm part excited and part dreading the whole moving process. Wish me luck.

Congrats on the new house! Good luck with the moving! I'm sure it'll all be worth the trouble in the end!

This was a fun 52 week challenge, what could be easier than flowers and circles and you can even see the photo in my layout!

Over Flowered

Now for something a little more simple.

Good luck on your move. Just think of the new clean crafting room you will have......although it will take a few days to get it set up.
I am glad you had been able to get pages finished before the move.

Heart Hello Everyone!!!

Hi Ladies! Remember me??? It's been forever since I've scrapped along with you guys but, I'd love to come back and join you if you'll have me. My life has just been so up and down over the past year that I just kind of walked away from everything. I am slowly trying to get back into the swing of things and I really miss chatting and scrapping with you guys.
So, what do you say...will you have me back?

Good question, Sharon! I don't scrap in chron order at all!! I scrap pics or events that strike my fancy at the moment or that work for a particular challenge. Or sometimes, like this week, I scrap pages for gifts. My DIL's birthday is next week and I'm scrapping 2 pages that I'm going to frame for her wall. I've tried to design them so they go with her decor. My son and DIL also have a "gallery" wall reserved just for my framed 12x12's!! I feel honored that they enjoy my creations enough to do that and tell me not to stop! My DGDs also have several in their rooms. (Next I'll be working on some framed Disney pages since both girls' rooms had recent makeovers -- one into a Disney Pixie Hollow room and the other a Princess room--lucky girls!) I pick up 12x12 frames at Michael's for about $5 on sale. Square frames of all sizes seem to be "in" these days too, so it's not hard to find frames for a reasonable price for scrapbook pages.

Anyway, I'm an anything goes kind of scrapper!

Well, I'm a newbie here, but I say "the more, the merrier!" And the whole point of this is to get everybody scrapping, so I say you're in the right place, so jump right in and start scrappin'!

Okay, so after much deliberation and thought, I think I'm setting my yearly goals now. For scrapbook pages, I want to do at least 60 for the year. That's basically 5 a month. I know I'll get more done this month than 5, but I also know there'll be months were I won't, so I think it'll all average out. For cards, I want to do at least 30. This is just how many birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I could count for just family, so I KNOW I'll be doing those!

That's so sweet that your family hangs your pages up in their home! Don't get me wrong, my family is supportive of me doing my hobbies, but I couldn't see them hanging my pages as home decor, so I think that's awesome that yours does! (My mom does lay a Christmas mini album I did for her out at the family Christmas reunion every year, but that's about it.)

I've thought about hanging some of my fav pages in my craft room, after all, I get to decide the decor in there! I'll have to watch for those frames on sale at M's again.

Thanks everyone for your comments on my page. I am working on a two page LO now. Just have my pictures on the table trying to come up with something. Just saw the 52 week challenge. Going to go back and see if I can do a LO with flowers!

Most of the time I do books chronologically. What do you do?

Sharon
Sharon, I am a 100% Chronological Scrapbooker. I've never done it any other way. I scrap a year in an album. Sometimes if I have too many pics for 1 album I'll scrap that year's vacation in a totally separate album or that year's Christmas pics in it's own album. I guess the reason I scrap this way is, I'm so afraid that I'm going to lose pics or forget what year a pic is from.
When I print my pics, I put them in chron. order right then. When I scrap I open my pic drawer and know the next pic in the drawer is where I left off last time and that my album will be in order.

Okay, does this sound a little OCD?!

I am mostly a chronological scrapper. I started scrapping with CM and using their pages as my base and if I skipped photos it really messed things up. I still use CM albums but now use 12x12 paper as my base and adhere to the pages. Now I do sometimes jump around and scrap according to a challenge. With that said, I have an album that I still haven't adhered the pages done to the CM pages because I'm afraid I might have missed some photos.

Welcome back Jennipher! We've missed you girlie!!!!!

Wendy, I love your idea of framed pages. I've done a few. As a matter of fact when I was at my sis's house the other day I saw a framed page I had done for my mom of her (sis's) daughter, my niece. I said, wait a minute, that's mom's! Sis said, "Not anymore" with this wicked grin on her face! It made me feel so good that she would "lift" this from our mom's house to put in her own house. Well, now I've got to make mom another. I like, when I'm printing my pics, if there is a pic that is great and jumps out at me, I'll print an extra or an enlargement of it to do framed work with it.

Oh yeah, we're still staring at about 4 inches of snow here in North Alabama. It's pretty, but we are ready for it to go somewhere else.

Michele, I only use CM albums. But, instead of their pages that come with the separate sleeves, I now use their side loading pages. OMGoodness, I LOVE those things. And, no more adhering my page to their white c/s, then sliding on a sleeve. I make a page on 12x12 c/s or paper then just slide it in....your done! Love, love, love their new pages. No more having to cut off 3/4 of an inch....remember that?! ugh!
My mom's a CM consultant, so it's easy getting what I need too.
