Scrappin' Challenge 2020 Can you believe this is our 12th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?!
We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2019 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2020! Let's keep scrappin'. It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2020! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops... What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process!
Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. *In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us. You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2020 Scrapbook Challenge!
Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends! We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc20dec"

Lela, are you still going with the alphabet theme? I like that and covers everything....not that I’ve been scrapping but just throwing in my feedback.

Happy December! I will post one last Technique challenge this month, then will retire it for lack of interest, mine , too! LOL. I will post it later this week.
I am not setting a goal. This year has been a bust!
November goal was missed but finished 13 pages anyway.
December goal is just 5, since I know I won't hit my year end anyway I'm just going to try to surprise myself and see what happens since I'm lacking by 40.
I got 30 pages done in November because I finished that pocket pages book. I've already assembled (but not completed) a few pages with our thankful leaves, and I've made a couple digital pages using some of our thankful posts on social media. I ordered photos when I ordered our Christmas cards, and I really want to scrap them, but I don't know if I'll really have time, haha.... so for December I'm at 2/10. I haven't decided if I'll go digital or what for a December Daily style, but I tend to do Christmas as a family album. Here's hoping that 2020 can end with some holiday joy for everyone! <3

2024 Scrapping Goals: March 8/12; Feb: 6/15; 2024: 35/125
I have given up on goal setting for scrapping at present. I am struggling this month to find motivation to make my DT samples and WTUI samples. I’ve not made one DT sample yet and I feel the pressure is on....eek.
A lot is happening this end with our health and we currently have one medical appointment after the other. Needless to say cards and scrapping haven’t been top of mind but I am hoping once this little hiccup is out of the way I can get back into it.
I so enjoy seeing what you all create. Thank you, and thank you for your friendship on this site.
Keep safe and well everyone.

Ah Sharon I don't know that there is such a lack of interest as apposed to so much stress and being busy with to many things be it from necessity or desire.
I do think I like making my life more simple and not committing to so much. Sorry your technique challenge is taking the hit!
The pages done so far and if I want to get an album done for Christmas I will have a few more this month, but then the album is already full so I don't know what I am going to do.
Did scrapbooking win Cheryl? I finally finished my samples..yay. Today is chores..yuk. I really just would like to sleep.

Joyce Ann, when does your DG time end or has it? I finally found some mojo...it came late but I managed to do my samples.
Another chores day here today and still going. I'm taking time out to recover LOL.
I have a list of projects, including scrapping, that I need to finish before end January. I may go MIA a while in the New Year. Wish me luck.
Happy scrapping. Keep safe and well everyone

I agree with Sharon M --- "this year has been a bust" .... I actually was on a ROLL scrapping LOTS IN March, April and May since I was finally home and had time and then as the months went on and I took less photos I seemed to lose my MOJO --- boo! I did less pages each month ...
I do have Jan-Mar 2020 Album done and I did hit my goal of 2019 Albums complete - 5 of them! I did so much travel last year! I have just a few pages to finish and 2018 will be done so maybe I'll hit that goal before year end, my MOJO seems to be coming back - YAY!
Did you make and mail Christmas/Hanukkah cards? I did get those done and in the mail so that was fun. My friends and family seem to enjoy.
This weekend is ALL ABOUT WRAPPING :P My kids will be home on Monday and I can't wait! I'm also looking forward to (2) weeks off work, I can't even describe to you ladies how crazy it is right now in transportation. I'm sure you can imagine

Hi Lela I posted yesterday and pfffttt it disappeared so hope this one doesn't.
I can imagine how busy in transportation it is right now. I certainly keep them busy LOL.
Glad that you hit your goals. I have given up on setting goals and just go with the flow these days and if I do everything I write on my to do list I am happy. I just don't want to put pressure on myself at the moment.
I will be having major surgery probably end Jan/early Feb...no definite date yet so life is slower and easier right now. Keeping up with the DT samples and WTUI is all I seem to be managing at present and not always the latter. Hopefully I will find some time during the next 2 weeks to create as we don't have a lot happening this year. Usually we rush around and I cook for the whole family but not this year. It will be a very quiet one and just what we need right now. We are fortunate that we can see our kids/poppets but with work rosters and one DIL seeing her family it's made our decision to just stay at home and do very little easier.
In case this site goes belly up again, I will wish you all and your families a very merry xmas and I hope that 2021 is a healthy and happier one for you all and everyone around the world. Keep safe and well everyone. Hugs

I had a little time yesterday and I was hoping to combine the stashbusters with the technique challenge (since I often stamp on my pages ;) ) but the website seems to be having issues.... I don't know what the stashbusters is. I sent out a bunch of Christmas cards, yes Lela. I sent out a photo card and some hand made ones. It just depends on the person. And we have a huge family... We're doing lots of memory making. 2020 is sure one for the books. :p Since we can't really see Santa like we normally do, our little town had Santa do a parade on a firetruck, after dark, lol. We were outside at 830 freezing and waving to Santa and getting candy from the truck driver, haha. But we did find a way to see Santa after all- he was behind ropes 6 feet away and we had to wear masks. I might have cried, but I'll take it!! and looots more movie nights, just in case we haven't had enough of those, lol. Thank goodness we own so many classic Christmas specials on dvd now.
Like Jayne said, Merry Christmas to all of you, however you celebrate December! Still hoping for some scrapping time.......!

I'm glad to return to SCS and see that there are people who still scrapbook! I won't be taking part this year (can't find anything!) but after I get my craftroom back in order, I plan to work on my sons' scrapbooks. They are 41 and 33 so I suppose it's about time that I finished scrapping their childhood photos. <embarrassed>
Welcome Melissa! It's usually busier around here, but between the holidays and 2020...... Still can't view the Stashbusters but I did hit the gallery. <3

I second the welcome to Melissa, and also am adding the Stashbusters items for you, Tanya, just in case you can't get to that page. Pick three (or more) from the following list:
• Geometric patterned paper (stripes, hearts, stars, triangles, etc.)
• Journaling strips • Glitter • Tag • Staples • Paper tearing
Hello everyone and welcome Melissa! Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all of you wonderful ladies!
I have been busy getting ready for Christmas and except for food shopping and the final details on one project I am ready to roll.
As far as scrapping goes I did two digital calendars for my Mom and Dad, but no physical pages. Not really worth uploading, so I didn't bother. I got some pictures printed and plan to work on a few pages early next week. I'll probably do the stashbusters challenge at that time.
I hope you all have a loving and peaceful end to this crazy year and feel the blessings of Christmas wherever you are.
Here's my latest layout. I enjoyed using some great CTMH products that I just received from Lela, especially the birthday papers and stickers and the fun alphabet stamp set. I combined the stamp set with a happy birthday sticker to produce the title. And Lela, I just wanted you to know I was a good girl and only took the Party Time paper pack, the Stacy's Hand stamp set, and the page protectors out of my box before I gave the rest to my hubby to wrap for Christmas! It was painful, but I am making my kids practice some delayed gratification so I figured I should do it as well - LOL!
Merry Xmas and Boxing Day and happy days to you all. I hope that you all had a wonderful day celebrating whether it be in person or via zoom or FaceTime calls. We had a very quiet one this year but pleasant. It’s now the last week of this horrible year. Wishing you and your families a healthy and better 2021. Keep safe and well. Hugs

Happy New Year's Eve! (or maybe it's already 2021 on the other side of the globe?) I saw a fun idea to "watch a video of all the photos taken that year" to wind down in the evening. I suggested it to my family yesterday and they all said we were too late to start, haha. So this morning I thought I'd see. Because I'm holding off going to the grocery store and clearly have time to waste.... haha! Anyway, this is why rolls of film was easier to scrapbook. Oh my gosh I may have a problem... I figured you would get a laugh as to why I will never be able to "catch up". This is the total photos each month from just MY camera. Yes, my family uses it too, but this count doesn't include their phones. gulp. 568 595 838 1338 - birthday, Easter 1231 - graduation 874 1461 - vacation 588 794 1439 - halloween/preschool 1258 - wedding, Thanksgiving 1584 - Christmas = 12,568 total photos. ***
x 8 seconds each.... 100,544 second video = 1675 minute video = 27.92 hours = not starting at 10pm to be done by midnight tonight....

Daizees we have over 80000 photos in the cloud. I think there’s a lot of double ups but I guess I won’t catch up either lol.
I did sort out all our travel folders with memorabilia putting them by trip into a folder with dates so I can just grab one when I want to scrapbook the trip. I agreed with DH I won’t scrap a full page per day otherwise it will take me years lol. There’s 25 main overseas trips and about 10 trips in Australia...eek. At least 35 albums.
Happy new year to you all. May it be a better one. I just read an article where the lady says don’t make NY resolutions. Just use last years and eat, drink and spend lol. It made me smile.
Happy scrapping.
