Postal---No Stove Required ~ 6x6 recipe card 5+1~Due Feb 2
This is a 6X6 page Recipe Swap.

This is for any recipe that a stove is not required. Some of you may know My stove caught on fire and well I haven't had the money to replace it...I know what you are thinking...a stove is only a few hundred buck...but no not this one...to replace it's $1500!! that right ladies $1500 smackeroo's!! So I've decided to embrace all the other cooking tools in my house...you know all those fun items that look cool and fun to use that we buy, use twice then they get put up....well this swap is about all those under used items or maybe in your house they are not under used (that's what I'm hoping anyway! ;))

so this can be a recipe using your:
deep fryer
rice cooker
food steamer
toaster oven
electric skillet
outdoor grill
crock pot
A george Forman grill
Food processor

well I think you get the idea...

the only trick to this swap is NOTHING can be prepared on the stove! meat can be browned in the microwave or electric skillet then put in crock pot....or maybe you have a great no bake pie, or no bake cookies, or an amazing Dip, or fish for two that you can bake in the toaster oven...once again..i think you get the idea....

The second trick to this swap is to HAVE FUN and be Creative!! you'll be amazed at what you can actually create with out a stove!! I didn't think I could survive...now I'm thinking I can wait awhile before I need my stove again.

~anyone who takes 2 or more spots

6X6 base of good quality card stock.
NVR, but two layers with your recipe TYPED.
Stamping is not required, but would be wonderful!!
Please use at least one embelly.
Make a page you are proud of! Your siggy should be on the back or at least on a sticky on the back.

5+1; with the 1 for the hostess. You will not get one of your own back.
You may sign up for more than one spot, but it must be a different recipe.

February 2, 2013. They will be swapped out within 10 days of getting all the packages.

Mailing Instructions:
You know the routine....

well that's awesome!! I'm glad to hear your first experiance with hosting was a good one!! that's always a plus. there are many, many, many great ladies on here. I know you'll have a great time!!

lois577 11-01-2012 02:05 AM

If I had to give up one piece of equipment in my kitchen it would definitely be my stove. I hardly ever use it! It just seems like a waste of energy to heat up the stove to cook for one person when a toaster oven can do the same job. I would like one spot to start please. This is going to be very interesting to see what recipes everyone chooses.

tryingtofindtime 11-03-2012 06:23 AM

Lois-i will get you added now.

sorry ladies i went MIA, I don't know where this week has gone. every night I come home I'm just so tired...I've been sneezing like crazy and my noise has had that I think I'm getting a cold feeling...ugh...so i've been getting my rest. lots of errands to do today. then birthday dinner tonight. tomorrow we have a meeting in the am, then a motorcycle christmas toy run in the afternoon....I'm excited about that. I love to see all the bikes with all the toys on them! it's fun!

anywhoo...just wanted to say a quick hello and I need to run and get me some coffee this morning! Happy day everyone...have a great weekend.

pat boisclair 11-04-2012 08:24 PM

Kristyn, Please put me down for one. I'm thinking maybe two but will get back to you about a second one here.

tryingtofindtime 11-05-2012 11:12 AM

pat sounds great...I got you down for one...just let me know about a 2nd if you decide.

tryingtofindtime 11-05-2012 05:57 PM

Today I made spagetti with no stove! I cooked pasta in microwave, browned meat in electric skillet and simmered the sauce in same pan. Baked garlic bread in toaster oven. And enough to feed 4 with leafovers....see no stove required!

pat boisclair 11-05-2012 07:54 PM

Wow Kristyn, you are being very creative. Keep us informed, we can use these hints.

lois577 11-06-2012 02:29 AM

Any special trick to cooking pasta in a microwave? I've never done that, but I would if I knew how.

tryingtofindtime 11-07-2012 06:42 PM

dea taught me how... I heated water for about 7 minutes then put in pasta (i used small shells) and cooked for 10 more minutes....almost overcooked pasta...so next time i will do 7 and 7.

tonight I made chicken and rice in my electric skillet...i just love that thing. tomorrow will be a pork roast in the crock pot (maybe).

lois577 11-07-2012 10:36 PM

That sounds easy enough. I will try this at home first and then we can have pasta for our next pot luck at work.

Microwave pasta, electric skillet chicken and rice, crockpot pork roast.... who needs an oven, right?

2CuteCats 11-08-2012 09:00 PM

Hello Kristyn and everyone,
I need a spot in this swap. Will fit it into my schedule somewhere 'cause it sounds like fun! :D

that's what I'm beginning to think....I'm ready to pull my stove out, and put in a table or counter top so I have more space for my skillet and other non-stove cooking tools. LOL

tryingtofindtime 11-09-2012 05:56 PM

roxane and robin-welcome...looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Lots of possiblities!

moonbeamtoo 11-10-2012 04:32 PM

My sister-in-law and I would like 4 spots, please.

2CuteCats 11-10-2012 04:51 PM

tryingtofindtime 11-11-2012 08:36 AM

Roxane- Hi

tryingtofindtime 11-11-2012 08:37 AM

this has been one of those weekends when I have a ton to do but just no motivation to do any of it. ugh...

lois577 11-11-2012 03:03 PM

Kristyn, I know that feeling! But this week I'm working 24 hours of overtime, and I have deadlines breathing down my neck, so I really need to use every spare moment productively. sigh I need a nap!

gramak8e 11-11-2012 04:56 PM

I would love to join!

lindac007 11-13-2012 04:35 PM

I would love 2 spots please and Thanks!

tryingtofindtime 11-13-2012 05:36 PM

Lois-LOL...i finally found my mojo about 7:30 PM on sunday night...it was a productive couple of hours tho before I went to bed!

Kate-Welcome...great to have you here!

Linda-Great to see you here too!

tryingtofindtime 11-16-2012 06:23 PM

what a busy week. I'm so glad next week is a short week. I might just get my house cleaning caught up...well I really doubt it...I really, really, really need to get started on all my christmas cards...I've never been this far behind before. Should have done the christmas card challange!

tryingtofindtime 11-18-2012 08:10 AM

so has anyone else seen the new breaking dawn movie? I took my daughter and her friend to the midnight premier...I think it was the best one yet. I've read the books, but it's been so long know I couldn't compare it to the book...so I think that might have helped...but still I think it was the best yet. even the girls thought so too...

tryingtofindtime 11-19-2012 05:59 PM

so my DVR quit working the day...well its been about 2 weeks now. they sent me a replacement box...just got around to hooking it up tonight (was tired of waiting for DH to do it) and when I opened the box it was the wrong one!! ugh!!

lois577 11-21-2012 06:19 PM

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of food and fun to share with family and friends.

Kittystamps2 11-21-2012 06:49 PM

Kitty Welcome to the swap. it's great to have you!! if you have any questions please ask...I don't think I've had a chance to swap with you yet. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create. We have a great group of ladies here. We don't seem to be the most chatty group, but that could aways change! LOL

Quilling_Queen 11-22-2012 11:52 AM

With permission, here is a new swap that I have started, please consider signing up to help the soldiers serving overseas

Good morning!
How is everyone? I have a cold and have had it for 3 days so far. My DH told me to take Zinc. He says that helps him. Going to swap out one of my swaps and then make Christmas cards today.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 06:07 AM.
