Triangle Box instructions
1 Attachment(s)
I've had several people ask me how to make the triangle box I have in my gallery...
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=203928&cat=500&ppuser=48990 To make this, cut a piece of cardstock 4"x8". If you want to stamp the outside, do it at this time. Fold it in half. On each end, make a mark where it measures at 2 inches. Then score with your scoring blade from the fold to the 2 inch mark all 4 ways. Then just fold the 4 diagonals inward, and fold it in half to make the box. Punch holes at the top through all 4 layers and thread a ribbon through. The 4"x8" will hold at least 5-6 Hershey kisses, or whatever you want to put inside! |
Thanks for the directions. This looks like fun.

Ooo, this looks like the perfect idea for the grandson's classroom valentine exchange.

LOVE IT!!!!

Cute, cute, cute-will be copying the instructions to use for my Valentine goodies. TFS.

I have been experimenting with different closures -- will post when i have a few made... but the closure can be a) tough to punch, and b) tough to thread repeatedly.... which got me thinking... I would love to see if other folks find creative closure alternatives for this box. It is a wonderful and easy project!

triangle box instruction help
I love these little boxes. They are fast, cheap and very versitle. I made 225 of them to use as a Make & Take at a holiday show in November. I cut, scored and punched them in advance, then invited everyone to stamp them with the Snowflake set using 3 different shades of blue. The inks were left open and 1 different snowflake stamp was placed on each pad. I thought it was a miracle that no one cross-stamped any of the pads. I used an 11 inch piece of our navy organdy ribbon to tie the box shut after placing 3 Tootsie Rolls inside each. To help with the ribbon, I bought a 2 pac of
Childrens Needles at Wal-Mart. They are made of plastic, have a large eye,are blue in color and are under 90 cents. I precut the ribbon and had my information on a small tag..very easy to attach to the box, as they folded the stamped box, I handed them the candy to pop inside and had a pre-threaded needle ready to slide thru the holes. All they needed was to tie the bow. As they tied the bow and we exchanged a few words, I threaded the needle for the next time. Very easy and fast plus they had a completed project in about a minute with the pattern to use again. Excellent project !! |
Great idea with the blue plastic needles! Seems like we always had an abundance of those when we were kids because we had so many arts-n-craft kits. Nowadays, there are too many computer games, and I've had to hunt sometimes for needles like that. Great idea for a make-n-take! I didn't know anything about them until someone brought one as a favor to my uplines' Christmas brunch.

I found this thread while reviewing another thread. I had saved the photos to My Favorites but hadn't had a chance to make them. Just made some. Wow!!!! These are great. Super cheap to make (except for the candy you put in them if that's what you choose to use) and super fast! Someone said that the holes can be difficult to punch. What I did was to punch one side at a time. I folded the box all up, then opened the flaps on one side so I could easily punch the folded side. Then I closed it all up again and opened the already punched flaps to punch the second side. Went fast and it doesn't cause the cardstock to get all bent up like it can if you try to punch it with everything folded up and closed.
Thanks for sharing! These are wonderful! |
Just found this thread! Love the little boxes! TFS

I'm lost....how does this triangle box stand up? When I make the box the "flaps" are too wide to tuck into the inside and there is no bottom. What am I doing wrong? Help!
