*detailed* instructions for the 2468 box

I've been reading about these and I'm really challenged when it comes to anything 3D. I'm sure the detailed instructions for these boxes are here on SCS *somewhere*, but I can't find them.

Help please?

Thanks,
Susan

score a 1/2 sheet of CS at 2, 4, 6 and 8. Cut in on each score mark to 2" from teh bottom. Cut off small flap. Notch with rectangle punch, assemble and add ribbon and tag.

oh thank you soooo much. I have been trying in my head to figure it out and apparently 3D is not my thing. I want to do them for my first Open House.

Do you have to have the rectangle punch to make this work? I don't have it, but want to make these.

AZMommy 10-26-2004 11:36 AM

The punch is used to make a notches in the sides to help keep the ribbon in place. You could use a circle punch - or just scissors for that matter.

Julie -- I didn't even punch the sides of my "box". I just did small punches in the middle at the top and put the ribbon through and tied the bow. It didn't even go around the sides.

I don't have the rectangle punch either....just used a hand held old fashioned circle punch to punch a half circle. Worked for me.

Thanks so much for the instructions! I was wondering how to make it as well and couldn't figure it out without the visual.
I couldn't open it either so I right-clicked on it and selected "save target as". Then, it worked just fine. Give it a try.

Try right-clicking on the .pdf file attachment and saving it to your computer, then opening it. That worked for me......

Thanks for the directions. For some reason, I thought these were "nesting" boxes...where you open a box and then there's a smaller one, etc.

Sabrinasmom 09-19-2007 05:15 AM

I would like to make some of these using an 8x8 sheet of textured cardstock. So, in thinking out loud, I could do 5 1/2 x 8, and change my score lines to every 1 7/8 right?
I have this really pretty cardstock on hand that would work perfect, but it is only 8x8, so I just want to make sure I have my measurements correct.

any directions on how to make the tall ones? Thanks! I am not mathmatically minded, so anyone that has a cheat sheet would be so helpful!

ok, I had DH help me out, and we got it figured out.

the best way to explain it would be like this for 12x12 paper for larger boxes.

on one side, score at 2 7/8" for the botom flaps.

The, turn 90*, and score at 2 7/8", 5 3/4", 8 5/8", and 11 1/2". This will leave a 1/2" flap.

Decorate and finish as normal.

Stampin_Mitz 01-23-2008 09:17 AM

THANKS so much... my SU Demonstrator was going to e-mail me her directions, but she hasn't yet --- and I need to make a whole bunch of them for one of my friends at my church who sells jewellery.

THANKS AGAIN!!! =)
