Smile Prayer request

My husband, Scott, and I are undergoing our 3rd IVF attempt on Saturday (May 21st). This is our best cycle yet…I have 15+ perfect sized follicles, a great lining, and my E2 levels are through the roof. We have the greatest doctor helping us and all outside factors are optimal. Our hopes are high that this cycle will be successful and we will finally have a child. We've been married for 13 years, trying to conceive for most of them, and have experienced 6 losses. I truly believe in the power of prayer and could use any prayers you (and anyone else) could spare. I’ve been praying about this for a while now, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have other people put in a good word for me. The embryo transfer will be on the 24th. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I will be keeping you and your husband in my prayers!! I sincerely hope that this is the right time for you and that it will work. My SIL got pg on her 2nd round of IVF...then got pg just 3 mos after that one was born all on her own! I hope that you have a similar happy ending!

Lynne, I'm sending you lots of positive thoughts!! You have gone through so much and I hope that it will work this time. Our son was an IVF baby and we had to go through five transfers to get him. Sometimes I can't believe that it finally worked. My thoughts will be with you on the 24th and please update us and let us know how you are doing.

Take care, Brenda

My prayers are with you too, Lynne. A friend of mine is going through the same thing. Her first attempt didn't work either, but she is going again in a couple of weeks. I hope and pray the best for both of you!

I will definitely be praying for you! Unable to have children myself, I know the deep desire you must feel to have a child. Word of encouragement - a couple I go to church with has been trying for 20 years. After 2 failed IVF's, they just found out 3 weeks ago that the 3rd IVF was successful and there are 3 babies! God bless you (and your DH)!

Big prayers for you, Lynne! I have 3 kids by IVF (a singleton & a set of twins) and went through 6 IVF cycles to get them. I know how tough it is to go through this; hang in there-- it will be so worth it!! I remember when my doctor had finished the transfer, he looked at my DH and I and said, "I've done all I can, it's in God's hands now" which I thought was so cool, coming from a doctor. I pray God will just wrap his arms around you and guide you through this. Keep us posted.

Prayers and hugs! Hope all goes well, and you have a beautiful baby (or 2!) - a good friend had twins on IVF - they were bigger than my singlets when they were born (and mine were full term!)

I'll definitely keep you in my prayers. My 3 boys are all ivf babies. We dealt with infertility for 6 years (had m/c #1 then couldn't get pg again) before we had our first. I got pg with my first transfer, only to m/c (baby boy had a chromosonal abnormality), and then m/c the second time (chemical pregnancy). The next 3 tries were successful and I have my 3 miracle babies. They are all from the same egg retrieval so technically they are triplets! We had been married 9 years when Dylan was born.

I just wanted to let you know there are others who have gone through what you are doing! I wish you all the luck!

Will be keeping you in my prayers. Although I never had problems getting pregnant, I always had trouble carrying a pregnancy. I've had a few m/c and one stillborn baby that was born too soon. A loss at any stage is horrible. I have one miracle baby (almost 10!) who was also born too soon. I pray that you get your miracle and that you and your dh are blessed with that joy.

I'll be praying too! My 2nd & 3rd babies (I have 3 boys) were ICSI (IVF with sperm injection). We got pregnant the 1st time & again with the remaining embryos, so mine are technically twins, too...4.5yrs apart. My 1st son was conceived naturally, but he was definitely the answer to prayers...we'd been told there was no way my dh would get me pregnant! We went 6.5 more years, through many other surgeries, inseminations, GIFT's, etc. before we tried the ICSI, so I know how much of a roller coaster you've been on.

I'm convinced, though, that the reason it worked the last time (because we'd already decided that it would be the last time...too much hyperstimulation & my risks of ovarian cancer increasing each time), and not any of the other times, was entirely because our attitude changed. Before, we prayed that it would work only if it was His will, and that it would not work if it wasn't His will. That was hard to pray! But that last time we were truly willing to accept it! What a peace we had as we went through it, even with the thought of it being our last chance!

Keep us posted!

Took my BIL/SIL 15 years to finally get pregnant. If it's meant to be, your time will come. Sounds like "all the stars are aligned." I hope for the best for you and pray you will be able to accept whatever God's will is for you and your husband. Remember it's all in His timing. God bless you both!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Our retrieval was this morning at 7:30am, but unforunately I ovulated on my own about 4 hours before. Our doctor was able to save 5 eggs. Our only solace is they are excellent quality. We will find out tomorrow what our fertilization rate was. Now we just wait and pray for the embryos to grow. I will keep you all updated. I cannot thank you enough for the warm wishes and positive thoughts.

OOOh, baby prayers your way! I think you are in the right frame of mind. I am a L&D nurse, and I am a part of a lot of egg retreivals for such nice people, I pray that yours is successful. I say, "I hope your eggs are sticky ones" and "hope to see you in 9 months" when I discharge my patients, I would say the same to you if you came through my ward! Best of Luck!

I want to thank you all again for the warm wishes and prayers. I cannot tell you much the love and support from everyone here on SCS has touched me. I would have posted sooner, but I have been in my own little world since yesterday morning. When all things started out so wonderful and positive, it is so disheartening that nothing seems to be going right now. Out of the 5 eggs that were salvaged, only one fertilized.... even with the help of ICSI (direct injection of the sperm). We have decided to go ahead with the embryo transfer. It does only take one, so we'll be praying for baby Bingham to hold on tight. I'm just so sad that this has happened again.
