Default Non Stamp Related - Brain Tumor Update

Hi,

I just want to thank you all for you posts of thoughts and prayers. It is a big shock to discover you have a brain tumor, but it has already taught me what are the important things in life like family and friends. Also to stop and smell the roses.

I am also fortunate that I live in connecticut between New York City and Boston. So I am able to get to good medical facilities. I went to Yale yesterday and while the tumor is not cancer (good news) it is not operable, or treatable at this point (bad news becuase I suffer from dibilitating headaches and have taken a leave from work. I am looking for a second and third opinion, so I have not given up hope.

Just make sure when you see your families tonight you give them a big hug and kiss and tell them you love them becuase you never know.

I am not sure what a RAK is but my address is:

Kate Lanouette
93 Perkins Rd.
Oxford, CT 06478

I would love some cards to cheer me up.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Kate

So sorry to hear of your news. I'd be happy to send you a RAK. A RAK is a Randm Act of Kindness. You may want to post this in the "Need a Lift" fourm. I'm sure you'll get some responses to your e-mail. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Healing thoughts to you, Kate! I hope that you'll be able to find an as-of-yet unknown treatment to lead to a complete recovery. Medical technology can be amazing nowadays!

Sending prayers for your comfort and skills for the doctors. Maybe one will have more encouraging news.

Kate, my prayers are with you. Power of prayer is so amazing. I know, I almost lost my husband a month ago to congestive heart failure. Only options are meds or transplant. Thank God, the meds are working and his heart has actually improved a little in the past 3 weeks. It looks like you have a lot prayer power behind you. Good luck to you.

Kate, I haven't been on the computer in a few days so this is the first I've seen your post. I am terribly sorry to hear about your brain tumor. It's a great idea to get a second or third opinion. Let's just hope and pray that they can help you feel better! You are in my thoughts and most of all my prayers. Sending you a big hug!

Eileen

Kate! Thank you for updating us on your condition. You have prayers coming from Okinawa. Keep the faith. Thank you for posting your personal situation because it teaches us all a good lesson on being grateful and thankful for each day. It truly is a blessing.

Big hugs!

I was diagnosed with a inoperable brain tumor 15 years ago, good news I'm still here. That sure is a heart-stopper, I know exactly how you feel! You know, it really did change my life, for the better!! That is truly when my spiritual journey started, not to mention how you look at life! This might sound crazy, but to me it was a gift, it taught me what was truly important and what life is really all about. I still get headaches but I have found some great meditations to do that really helps. I'd be happy to share them with you, just PM me. Or if you just want to talk. I am here for you. You will be in my thoughts & prayers!

A friend of mine was diagnosed with a brain tumor quite a few years ago, too (it may be 15 or more). She is still doing quite well. There have been times when her meds have needed to be adjusted, but she really is doing well. She works in the children's program at our Bible study group as a teacher of these little ones. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Kate! I have a family member with a Malignant tumor, and I can only comprehend a part of what you are going thru, watching is hard, living it is something completely different. Have they diagnosed what kind of tumor it is?
Thinking of you!

Kate -
sorry, I somehow missed this post when you first posted it...

I live near New Haven so I'd be happy to come visit if you're there -- or in Oxford -- if you need company or a fellow stamper to say hi. Praying for you.... keep us updated. Any more news recently?
