Challenge Title: Repeat stamping with the MISTI - Ombre styleHostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP3 Date: October 2nd
I cannot believe that October is upon us. Today was actually the first cool, fall feeling day in my part of the country. This is my favorite time of the year. Bonfires, flannel, leaf piles and pumpkins are things I love about autumn. This is also a fun time for card making with all the beautiful fall tones we can use.
This month, I thought I'd share a card I made to send to my twin nephews with their Halloween goodies. It makes a great challenge for this month as I used my MISTI for the entire card.
One of the great things about the MISTI is using the graph paper (or mousepad) underneath your paper as a guide to repeat stamp. I started with my paper up in the left hand corner of my MISTI (I stamp using the lid on the right side) and aligned my stamp where I wanted my darkest image, in the bottom right hand corner of my card.
After stamping the imagine in the darkest color, I cleaned my stamp off and then moved my paper down 5 square on the grid sheet (1.25 inches). Keeping my stamp on the lid, in the exact same place, I then used a lighter ink and stamped the image again.
I cleaned the stamp off again, moved my paper down 5 square (1.25 inches) and stamped in the lightest color. All the while, leaving my stamp in the same spot on my MISTI lid.
I removed the goodies stamp and then realigned the paper on the right hand side of my MISTI so I could stamp on the left side of the circles. I stamped in the same manner as my first images and after aligning the linear stamp, moved it down 1.25 inches each time to stamp in the repeating style.
I then stamped the black words over the orange lines.
The MISTI made this process quick and easy because the stamp always stayed on the same place on my lid. I only moved my paper an equal space each time.
I added splatters and sequins and mounted the panel on black scalloped paper.
Below is the finished, mounted card ready to put in my box of candy for my nephews.
Thank you for looking at my card and I hope you join in this challenge!

I again was so excited to post a card I made (complete CASE, and I mean, complete)...but...
Now that I came back to this thread I realized I needed to change colors of ink...
I have another week...I hope I come back...
If I won a $50 certificate I would put it towards buying my little friend "H" a regular size MISTI...she is 12, almost 13 and has been stamping with me for almost 3 years now...
Last week she was here and I gave her an early birthday present...some dies for the Cuttlebug she got from be last year for her birthday!
She had lots of fun with my MISTI last week, she's becoming very responsible with my toys so I'm enjoying buying her some to have at her house!

I found this through one of Susie's posts. (Thanks Susie).I love how this turned out and will do more of these for the FF Card Drive #4. It was so simple and quick and FUN! I really feel like a major head slap that I never thought of this on my own. I seriously have only used the grid paper as to stamp on first when I am trying to line something up within something else...like a window or something. DUH!
May I claim being left-handed as making this difficult for me?
I tried a card with "movement" and obviously started at the wrong spot such that I had to move the stamp to get the spots each stamped!
Will try again today...thankful for another few days before the upload date ends! I use my MISTI all the time but obviously I don't use it to the fullest YET.

TA-DAH...I think I finally got a card made that is correct for this challenge!!!!
I'm certain I made the challenge more difficult than it needed to be but I actually like the card. I also realized I only have green in more than 2 colors, makes OMBRE challenges really a challenge! I don't have many ink colors, but I am sure I already have more than enough ink...just not thought out and planned!
Congratulations to DCinkit who has won the $50 gift certificate from My Sweet Petunia! Her beautiful snowflake care put me right in the mood for Christmas! All of the cards were great!!! Thanks everyone for your entries and I'm so glad we've increased in numbers!
DCinkit, please send me a message with your email information and set up an account on My Sweet Petunia if you don't have one already.

Congrats Diane! Love your card so much and your description helped me understand this technique much better. I’ve made a few cards now using it! Enjoy your new treasure!
What are the benefits of having a bag for the MISTI?
I've seen the corners in action but I first need to figure out to really use my MISTI...I use it often but I don't really know how to USE it, I just use it! :p
