I have been a member for a while, but have not posted much. (I seem to be on FB more! ;-) ) Anyway, glad that we have a special place here on SCS! Thanks for letting us come play!
I am a member of the Facebook group - Terry Weigand. I've been a member here, but really haven't used it in several years. Glad to be back.
Is there a reason we can't edit our posts? I wrote a reply on the bare rubber thread and wanted to go back and add something but couldn't edit. I see at the bottom of this page:
Posting Rules
You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may not edit your posts
You can - but there's a time limit - 15 minutes I think? I'll check.
Lydia, are you going to be transferring over all the great videos you and others have posted on the original MISTI thread? (Sorry if that question has already been asked and answered.)
MSP has started an awesome Video Channel thread, and new videos will be added each day - check it out here:
Thanks for making the move! I am part of the FB group, but, it is hard to keep up with the posts (good problem to have - so much love for the MISTI)! Also appreciate having the videos in one spot!
I was a member of the FB page, but I've been on SCS for 8 years. So I want to shout out a big Hi! and Welcome! to all the SCS newbies. Pretty soon you'll be finding your way around here with no problems at all; until then, just ask for help...
And remember, there are no dumb questions - we've all been there at one point! And I gotta warn you, this group likes enabling just as much, if not more, than the FB group!

I need to save my nickels for this as I will have the terrible exchange rate to deal with. Of course it didn't I did an impulse buy of an expansion pack for The Sims 4 (I should have been crafting instead) :(

I'm feeling for my Canadian friends right now with that rate - ouch!
I have a question that may be "goofy" .. when ever I visit the SCS site, I end up trolling thru way too many pages to get to the latest stuff.. Is it possible to have the last entry first? except of course the "sticky welcome note".. does that make sense to anyone besides me?
I know I can go to the last page and find it.. just seemed like it may be easier if it was an automatic... especially for those trying to find their way around a new to them site.

I can see where you would like that but for me I like starting in the beginning. When you get the email notification it's the latest info so a good portion of the time I just read the emails to keep caught up with the conversation. :p
Ok. So far it think this site looks pretty messy overall.
I think you're feeling that way, because it's so new to you. Please give yourself some time to become familiarized with the forum, and I know you will love it. Any forum with over 400,000 subscribers has tons of topics and posts. I find SCS is organized beautifully and have no problem finding exactly what I'm looking for. Help is always here nearly instantaneously 24/7, from one of our fabulous moderators or another member. Hang in there, you'll be a pro in no time. HUGS

Aaah yes - that's a setting in your profile! See the screenshot attached and change it to Linear - Newest First.
To Get there click Welcome Gailnttexas at the top right. From the menu on the left, scroll down to Edit Options. Then see my attached screenshot for what to change
Also - I like to use the View New POsts button over there on the left to see all the newest posts on the site. Then click into whatever topic interest you.
I always figured I was fine with a stamp positioner, and was reluctant to do the MISTI. When I finally broke down and ordered one, I posted on fb: "Heaven help me. I just ordered a MISTI." My non-crafty friends were confused. They thought it was an exotic drink...!
Best purchase ever. Love it!

If you click here, you'll see the main My Sweet Petunia Forum. There's a Sticky at the top with the Video channel - click that to see videos - there are more added every day. There's also a thread with an index/list of all the videos so you can see them broken down by type and go right to what you want: My Sweet Petunia - Splitcoaststampers
Hi, everyone! I agree, I'm new to this forum, but I already discovered that this is a much better site than the fb group! The problem was that so much interesting stuff was lost in the feed and no one could ever find it again. (At least I couldn't!)
Yay for structure!

Oh, and another thing: I can't get my photo to upload! It's only 33KB and jpg, so it shouldn't be too big. Any idea on how to fix that?
Thanks in advance!
/Elisabeth
I've been a SCS member for 4 years and I love it here. Such wonderful, kind, fun people. I'm still kind of new to Facebook and I still find it confusing and overwhelming. I'm so glad to have My Sweet Petunia here!
I got my MISTI a week ago and have made 2 cards. I'm looking forward to doing so much more with it.

I wanted to try out something - but I still can't see my photo. I made the size even smaller... but it still doesn't seem to work...
Hmm...

Is your photo of a project or is it the photo you use as your avatar or something else? I am asking because I think photos of projects must go through a moderator before they "show". It's been a while since I've uploaded though...

Ohhhh - make sure you are selecting 'avatar' to upload the photo we see of you in the forums - the profile picture (which is lovely and your tiny baby is adorable!) goes to your public profile page. If you click at the top where it says "welcome, elbeth" you'll see the 'Edit Avatar' selection under Settings & Options on the left.
1. We can "like" something just like on FB and we don't have to respond if we don't feel it's necessary - although an encouraging comment is always welcome!
2. If you know that you are looking for a specific thing - i.e. quilting template - you just need to do a search and voile everything ever put up about "quilting" and "template" will come up. I've learned more things finding things that had nothing to do with what I was looking for! So glad to be revving back up with SCS!
3. I know - I said two - but I like the idea that we get an email with a response in the email itself and that we don't get an email for every reply! If I want to see more, I just click on the link and everything shows up.
LOVE MY MISTI GIRLS!

I'm like many of the others. Very unknowledgeable as to how to navigate here & hope to be learning all sorts of things from all of you. I can absolutely attest to the great customer service at My Sweet Petunia, and very prompt response to the missing grid cover sheet that I noticed was not in my order, after seeing in the video that one should be there! Had it within a few days of emailing Iliana. That doesn't happen with very many places now-a-days!
Still not sure if I am posting this question in the right spot. Ok got my avatar picture up. I do not know how to remove where its says “card stock collector “ Not sure how that got there but I must have put it there.
Just thought of something - if you haven't already - sign up for the Weekly Inkling. It comes to you every Wednesday with a project highlighted with all the instructions including a video and gallery. There is a section called "Hot Topics" that addresses some things that have been brought up throughout the years. AND one of our MISTI lovers, does Ask the Artist - Dini! And there are other things to look at as well. I've learned a lot of things in the Hot Topics and the highlighted projects.
There is a place to put your email address along the left side of the screen on the threads. It is right under the "Around the Site" box.
Hope you enjoy the new windows to our art as you newbies wind your way around SCS!
PS: I'm don't work on this site - just love my Weekly Inkling!

I'm here from FB. SCS's gallery with products used, searchable & tagged is its best feature in my opinion. Its a goldmine of ideas for old & new products.
Search is always best friend on a forum to find answers to questions. And google always seems to lead me here anyway when I have a craft question. Funny like that.
