Challenge Title: Cream of the Crop Hostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP71
Date: August 7, 2023
Hello and welcome to August! We had some pretty harsh storms tonight and my electricity has been off until now. Apologies for the lateness. (I always seem to be behind.)
I hope you all had a great July! The fair is in town, here, so it's feeling like the end of summer. That makes me a little sad.
This month's challenge is created around this beautiful card I made for a friend's birthday. She's turning 80 this weekend! I don't know about you, but I use white cardstock on all my cards. I always pick white for my card base and most of my card has white space. Clean and Simple. For this month's card, I decided to use some of my cream cardstock that has been sitting in my drawer. I love the color, but never think to reach for it. I originally was going to do a cream and white only card but changed my mind after I got all my florals cut.
This card took a very long time. I seemed to be hitting a wall when trying to design in. I also couldn't seem to find any birthday sentiments that were large enough for a 5x7 card. So that was frustrating. I think I'm just going to have to write my own verses and produce my own stamps with larger font sentiments. All the sentiments I have are really tiny fonts. Here's my card:
I used my MISTI for lining up my sentiments on the inside. This card front was created with just die cuts and an embossing folder. I also used the back of my MISTI. I put a sheet of the graph paper on the back, held by a magnet, and colored my florals using a small pouncing sponge brush I found on Amazon, originally designed for makeup. This allowed me to sit in my chair in the living room as there was not enough light in the other rooms. The magnetic feature of the MISTI held my paper in place and provided a lap desk work area.
Your challenge this month is to create a card using cream as your main color. That should be quite easy! I hope you have fun! It was great to see all your July cards!
Good luck!

I just went and looked at July's cards. I love them all! Do any of you ever go through past galleries looking for inspiration?
MISTI Monday
Yes, I use galleries all of the time for inspiration. Sometimes I search for specific keywords which pull up a lot of photos of cards to look at. The gallery is full of inspiration.

I look at youtube videos...finding layout ideas. Nothing difficult, something that will allow me to make a card for donation so I can make another card for donation.

Wow! What a gorgeous card in cream colored papers! I LOVE the tip about using the back of your Misti as a laptop desk area! Wow, I never thought of that! Those pastel flowers are just the right accent for this lovely card!
Yes, I like to look at past galleries, but then I get so caught up in looking that I stop creating! LOL

I'm really enjoying this challenge, as I have a big stash of cream card stock that I've neglected! Super challenge this month as usual Misti. Here's another card:
I'm loving this month's challenge. The cream colored cards are so pretty. I used my Misti to center my inside sentiment and to make sure it didn't show through the openings when the card was closed.
I'm really loving using cream in my cards. Thanks for a great challenge Misti! I have a huge stash of cream card stock that needs to be used! Off to create. Thanks for the great inspiration!

Here's another card that I made with cream card stock and cream-colored designer papers. I tried to follow the sketch challenge, too. I can't believe how many different tones of cream papers that I have!
I finally had time to work on some cream-colored cards yesterday, and I had a fun time following a couple sketches for my cards. This has been a popular challenge, and it's great to see all the amazing cards in the gallery! Thanks for the inspiration, MISTI Monday! Did everyone see that My Sweet Petunia has a new glue press out? It's definitely on my wish list!
I used my June gift certificate to get the glue press. It is an awesome tool! Tonic Nuvo has been for some time my favorite glue to use. The glue press comes with one bottle of Tonic Nuvo glue, an extra empty bottle which can be filled with the liquid glue of your choice, and two special tips—a fine point, and an ultra fine point, which fit the Tonic Nuvo bottles I already owned. Definitely a win-win for me!
As much as I love this August challenge, I decided to skip this month. Other participants need an opportunity to win. I know there are some participants who have voiced that they don’t have a stamp positioning tool, and not many yet have the glue press. To whomever wins the August gift certificate, have fun choosing your freebies!

There is a new MISTI in the rose gold color at Scrapbook dot com. I should check My Sweet Petunia to see if it is there. Not there. I'm sure it will be there sometime as all of the other colors are.
I bought the glue press and just got it last week! I love both the fine tip glue applicator and the larger tip for bigger areas! Once you have one, you'll want two so you can leave both tips on 2 glue bottles!

There needed to be an enabler alert on this post!

I intended to use my MISTI to stamp the image in the center of this beautifully framed oval, but then I came across a floral embossing folder and decided to use it instead. I also used Very Vanilla which is the closest to Cream that I have on hand. Thanks for Looking!
Holy Cow! I almost missed posting my card!! I had a root canal done last week. Took it easy the rest of the week. Then yesterday started having some issues with my mouth. After calling the dentist and getting another prescription...took it easy. Then all of a sudden realized today is the 31st....just minutes ago!! Dashed out in the heat to get a picture....it's only 98* today!!! Much cooler than last week!
Just saw all the gorgeous cards for this challenge in the gallery today. So stunning! I was totally inspired and knew I HAD to play in this challenge. Here are the cards I came up with today:MSP71-Roses in Winter by parknslide at Splitcoaststampers
There are so many gorgeous cards in the gallery for this month’s random MISTI drawing!
I just love ivory, cream, off-white! The colors of pearls! Thanks so much to those who’ve posted for inspiring me!
Hello and Happy Labor Day to all who observe the holiday. I didn't really do much today, except make a birthday card and watch YouTube videos lol. The card is cute, though! Happy with it.
There were SO many gorgeous cards this month! You all outdid yourselves. I looked over them 3 times while writing the names down. You guys are so talented. It's been such a pleasure to bring you a new challenge every month for the past 71 months. This is, however, the last MISTI Monday challenge. I'd like to thank you all for being such a nice part of my life over the years. I'm thankful to Iliana for giving me this opportunity to combine my favorite things: card making and giving MISTIs away lol.
This month's winner is joyfulstamper7! Her Thank You card was randomly drawn by my cat, actually! I put the names of the cards in a bowl, went and got a Diet Coke, and came back to Bert with a paper in his paw. Too FUNNY!
Congratulations to the winner and I hope you all have a great September!
Thank you so much! You are all great!
Love,
MISTI Monday.

Good Luck MISTI Monday which whatever you do in life. I will miss this challenge, not because I need a new MISTI, but because it is a fun challenge to participate in. I am thankful for this challenge and the times I have won. I gave two MISTI's away and kept one for myself.
Misti Monday.....thank you for the wonderful challenges. I appreciate the time it took to come up with a different challenge every month. I feel very blessed to have come in contact with each one who participated. It was an added bonus to be one of the winners in the past year. Thank you again!
Joyfulstamper7....congrats!

I’m so excited and appreciative of this win! I recently purchased a used original MISTI and love it. I want to get a newer model. The MISTI is definitely one of the best tools ever invested for stamping!
MISTI Monday, I have thoroughly enjoyed each month since I discovered this group and so appreciate all that you have put into it, and of course the generosity of Iliana, too! THANK YOU! I will miss this challenge - seeing your theme each month and then the talent of the participants has been such a joy!
MISTI Monday...I agree with Lisa...I participated because I enjoyed your challenges, not because I needed to win...(uhm, I have 5 MISTIS or is it 6? and I'm thinking I need one more plus 2 of the glue contraptions someone enabled me into!)
I will miss looking for your challenge each month yet I thank you for what I learned on this journey with you! Happy life.

Congratulations to joyfulstamper7! And thanks for a great challenge, MISTI Monday! I've really enjoyed participating this last year after finding this fun challenge! I'm grateful for the two MISTIs I won (1 of which was donated to a family with 5 daughters who adore crafting!).
Thank you for the fun challenges, Misti Monday! So sorry to hear this was the last challenge. It was a great one, too! You will be missed! Congrats to joyfulstamper7.

I echo everyone else in saying THANK YOU to Misti Monday. It has been fun to participate as often as I can. Almost 6 years of organizing and coming up with challenges is a long time and we are so blessed to have your generosity along with Iliana's support in doing this! You Both Rock!!!!!
