Challenge Title: Easter or Spring Fling Hostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP31 Date: March 2nd, 2020
Hello card makers! So March is here and it's wet, wet, wet, where I live.
I kind of did the challenge on the fly. I've been going to the hospital that is 1 hour away to see a friend who has been in there since 2 Thursdays ago. She'll probably be in there for another week or so. So I've been working and driving.
I made some cards for a card swap and just decided to use one, as I didn't have time to be clever or make a new card. Plus it's really hard to come up with different ideas every month. lol
So I made this Easter card using a lot of techniques and a lot of MISTI time. I used the MISTI for stamping on my die cuts and lining up the words above and below the Savior die cut. One of my favorite uses of the MISTI is stamping on die cuts. That way they're placed exactly where I want them. I used texture paste with a stencil from My Colorful Life, Papertrey Ink stamp sets and die. The rectangular die with the little lines around the edge is from The Greetery. I'm a white space girl, so...there's a lot of white.
I loved how this turned out and using my MISTI allowed me to make multiple cards pretty quickly (after I figured out the design).
Here's the end result:

Your challenge this month is to make an Easter or Spring themed card. I can't wait to see all your cards and appreciate you looking and entering every month.
Have a great March!

Such a gorgeous card! Definitely "sings" Spring! Your texture paste really helps set off those lovely flowers. I hope your friend is OK and gets out of the hospital soon. Busy month for me as I have lots of company.

Hi everyone! Checking in to see how you are all doing with the virus social distancing. I hope you are all healthy and none of you, including family and friends, are affected. The card entries look awesome! Now that we're spending more time at home, I hope to see a lot more entries!
Love you all! What crafty projects are you working on?

Hello, MISTI Monday! It is great to see you pop in and say hello. I hope you are doing well. Within my home, my Mom and I are doing our best to stay away from others. The community center is still able to deliver our daily meals at lunch which is a blessing, but we really don't have any contact with the delivery person or anyone else. Since Mom is slowly improving health wise, I have been able to craft a little more. I'm hoping to continue to make more cards for this challenge. Thank you so much for providing a monthly challenge for us MISTI lovers.
Hello Misti! I did make 2 cards today! Yay! Luckily, my family and friends are all healthy at this time. Hoping you and your family are staying well, too.

Here is another card. I originally stamped two images exactly the same with the paper turned in both landscape and portrait. I didn't like the portrait as it needed something, so I finally cut it apart, found dies to add grass and a sun, all cut from patterned paper. I like the finished look.

The green grass, blue sky, and a fawn all point to the newness of spring.
This is a prime example of why I need to dismount my stamps from wood and stick them into my MISTI. See the black mark on the top right corner of the tag? Yup, I couldn't even turn it around because the other side was already messed up when I didn't apply even pressure on the full sentiment and only part of it showed. Ugh!!!

Why can't I find Dina's video on how to use wood blocks in the MISTI? I know there is one somewhere on SCS.

Do let me know if you find it! I have a ton of wood stamps!
Maybe Dina will "hear" us talking about her and post it for you!!!!
I went looking on a thread where I thought it might be but didn't find it. I'm not good with SCS, sometimes I just stumble upon something and think wow, that is really interesting and then I can't find it again...
Now could I go make my card? I know which stamp I want to use and I could use my simply layout style...

Dina's video:
I bought the Apple Pie Stamp Positioner Kit to use with my Wood Stamps in the Misti. Then Misti Creative Corners came out. I bought those. Like that they have the magnets in them so you can use wherever on the card. Ilina demo's how to use those:
Thanks for finding the video and for the bonus one too...I have the corners and had no clue how to really use them! Now I know one way I can use them...

Only at this time of year can I use this sentiment! It is so true.
Thanks MISTI Monday for another month of a challenge...maybe we could be helpful and send you suggestions if you continue to offer this challenge. Of course there is the Splitcoaststampers Challenges that you could find something there to challenge yourself even!
VSN is this weekend...hopefully lots of MISTI's will be being used!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all healthy and safe this evening. It was a beautiful sunny day here, but the wind was truly wicked! It was nice to feel the sun on my face. It feels like it's been 3 months of rain and darkness. Adding to that the virus situation, sure makes it hard to keep upbeat.
I'm so happy to announce craftymerla as our winner this month! Her "hello pearl" card was the card my neighbor pulled out of my bowl! We sat on the porch watching the sun set and I was like, Oh!, I need to pick the winner! So she helped me!
Congratulations! All the cards were so pretty and springy! You girls always share the sweetest and prettiest cards. I feel like so many of my friends are in a funk right now. I believe I'm going to do something out of my box. I'm going to make ATCs and send them in cards to my friends. I've never made an ATC before, and I'm happy to try! I also got a lot of orders for cards this weekend and I need to get my butt working on those! I've just not been in the mood.
If any of you need anything in this social distancing world, please let me know! I want to be here for you all if you need anything that I could possibly help with!
Happy end of March! Love to you all!

So excited to have time for making cards and using my MISTI more and more...
UHM...so do you think our next challenge will be make ATC's? Hmmm...I might have made one in my card making experience...I have made some small 3x3 cards but I think those are different than ATC's.

Congratulations Sally, Crafty Merla! Yay!
Thanks Misti for your words of support and encouragement! I can't believe it's almost April! Wow, where does the time go! Good idea with to make ATC's to send with cards!

Thank you to all of you for the congrats! I am overjoyed and excited. So pardon my ignorance, but what is ATC?
Congratulations, Crafty Merla! I believe ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards and if not mistaken they are about a 2" x 3" size. If this is not completely correct I hope someone will pop in and clarify

You are close. It is 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 in size. Had to Google to get it correct. I have made a few, but have never done anything with them. Like the small card of 2 X 3, they are fun to make, but they sit there.

Thank you, Ladies for the info. If they are for trading, I guess you are helping to create a bit of a card for someone else using things they may not have? Maybe gift them so that they can repurpose them onto a larger card maybe. The post office does have a minimum size that they will allow to go through the mail, so they definitely have to be handed out or mailed in something larger. Anyway, it is a new idea for me to think about. Thanks!
