July 2019 MISTI Monday Challenge
Challenge Title: Summer Sizzle
Hostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP23 Date: July 8th, 2019 Hello and Happy July! I hope you are all doing well! I've recuperated from JunkieFest and my little bug I got afterwards. This month has started off with a bang and I'm not even talking about the 4th festivities! I had a really difficult time coming up with a challenge for this month, but when I got the idea, it came together so quickly! I hope you enjoy this challenge as much as I did creating it! This card is inspired by a dear friend of mine who recently bought a new little camper and I got to spend some time with her at Junkiefest. We live in different parts of the country. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.spl...af8302f383.jpg I took traditional summer/July colors, but made a friendship card instead of a patriotic theme. Most of the card is die cuts, but I did use my MISTI to help with embossing my sentiment straight and able to double stamp the versamark for sure coverage on the card stock. I also used my Cut-Align to cut my banner strip. Your challenge for this month is to create a summer (Not July 4th Holiday) card using Red, White and Blue. Usually our use of those colors is reserved for the holiday. I tried to use them in a fresh, summery way. I think I achieved that! I really hope you have a good month and enjoy your craft time. I've been feeling so blessed by our crafting community lately and I sincerely hope you're enjoying the challenges. Even though I'm a terrible procrastinator, I really enjoy making the cards for this forum. Thank you! MISTI Monday UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. I like using my MISTI for double ink on versamark sentiments too! An the MISTI ruler I use often to get my sentiment straight when I adhere it to the card front...
A summer card in red/white/blue sounds like a great idea. |
This is perfect! It fits right in with this week's Mod Squad Challenge if anyone is interested: http://modsquadchallenge.com/sweet-strawberries/
They are both all about red, white and blue. Looking forward to playing with this challenge. I used my Misti on most every card I make, even with a wood mount stamp and a stamp positioner. The magnets help so much in keeping my paper in one place. |

Here is another card for this challenge.
Anchor Birthday by lovinpaper - at Splitcoaststampers Since the monthly Gina K challenge is to use a flag, I chose the USA flag and used Gina K stamps. My MISTI was invaluable for keeping my stamps in rows that are even. |
I do like the look of red/white/blue!
Happy Birthday Celebration by FayeMakesCards - at Splitcoaststampers Thanks again for a fun challenge. I plan to make another card for this challenge. |
I made these 2 cards using the same stencils, same inks and the same layout...was interesting to me how the colors changed when I changed the order in which I used them on the stencil.
One Kind Word x 2 by FayeMakesCards - at Splitcoaststampers Had a blast making these 2 cards today...they will go into my donation box for the local hospital. |

This card is all about the MISTI. I would never have bought, let alone actually use, layering stamp sets without the MISTI. This card is so simple because of that and the beautiful stamp set as well. |
MISTI July Challenge MSP23
Here is my card. It’s called Summer Fun! When I think of summer, I think of the beach.
I don’t have a MISTI, so I used a Stamp-a-majig to stamp the sand castle several times. Summer Fun! by Joyfulstamper7 - at Splitcoaststampers |

Just saw on Facebook that My Sweet Petunia is having a 25% off sale starting next Monday! Woohoo!!

Enabler alert! I think I need to purchase a small MISTI again, I gave mine away since I got a second regular size...I miss that small one for sentiments...and it takes up less space since sometimes my 8 foot table only has a smidge of space for stamping!!!! |
I bought the small one with my voucher...not used it yet...mmmmm...or my corners.
|
Here is my card for this challenge:
Summer Day I used my MISTI to align my image and sentiment. I was also able to stamp it several times to get a better image. I love this tool! |
I am attempting to enter this challenge for the first time! The site would not let me copy my link from my gallery - until I have posted in the forums 3 times (?) I'm going to try again...
|
Here is my red, white, and blue summery card, using the Misti, of course!

How strange. Sometimes things just take a while because if you are not a fan club member, you have to have approval first...and sometimes things are just wonky for a bit. Welcome to the MISTI Monday challenge and good luck! |

Hi everyone!
Just coming over to look at the cards! Hope you are all doing well! Can you believe we're nearing the end of July already? It's been a crazy busy month for me. Time to start thinking of a new challenge for August!
MISTI Monday |
Happy Tuesday Misti Monday and everyone...I think I will have to catch up in August. July has gone way too quickly. Enjoy.
|
I'm enjoying this challenge, Don needs to photograph the other cards I've made...whether he gets them done before tomorrow is yet to be seen...
|
Something is wrong with SCS this morning so I don't know if this link will post correctly but I did make another card for this challenge.
Summer Strength by FayeMakesCards - at Splitcoaststampers I have a pinterest board of red/white/blue...was fun to use these colors this month. Looking forward to the next challenge...and to DTGD which starts on Saturday!!!! I'm certain I will have fun. |
You have NO idea how hard it was to get through today! I had a sleep study done overnight last night, so I didn't sleep well or enough! Then my camera was dead and had to be recharged when I finally wanted to take the pictures. (And, by the way, there's nothing quite like that glue they put in your hair to hold the sensors- Eeugh!!!)
So, anyway, I went ahead and uploaded my 2 cards: Blue Flutter by contrapat - at Splitcoaststampers Be Happy! by contrapat - at Splitcoaststampers At least I managed to make a couple of cards, it's been a while! |

Looking forward to August challenge. 😊 |
Thank you! I enjoy playing on the challenges whether a win happens or not. It is nice to win though. :)
|
Congrats Lisa...and I agree...I enjoy playing whether I win or not! I use my MISTI with almost every card I make...the other day I used Duplos in it so I could use a wood mounted image that I didn't want to unmount...
Stamp Room Happiness, especially during DTGD this week...DTGD is open to all this year during the 15th year celebration of SCS. Each day new challenges. |

MUCH better, thanks. Sleep matters. Now I just wish the doctor would tell me what he thought (sometime before the 8th of October, which is my appointment). |
