Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all! I've been having fun with my MISTIs yesterday and today creating TWO cards! Takes me a while. However, today I have a story to tell. While creating the attached card, I decided to use Jennifer McGuire's idea of using the Eclipse mat to glue up the HELLO! The lid on the giant Zig glue pen was on really tight, as it should be. HOWEVER, when I pulled it off glue flew everywhere. I know there are places that I haven't found yet. None of it landed on the card amazingly! However, drops of it landed on the Eclipse sticky board. I finished what I was doing and decided to clean it off WITH A KLEENEX! What a mess on my little board! So my advice to all of you, just let the glue drops dry and be done with it! It's tough being old! LOL!
I so love my MISTI. Used it to center the tree. I noticed there were some little white spaces between the branches and I opened my stamp drawers and found this stamp that I've probably had for 16 years. It has three tiny little shapes on it, so I just took the cushion off and cut away the little circle and voile - apples! Time for us all to look through our treasure chest of stamps - we will be surprised what we find!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Oops! I cant tell you how often I do stuff like that. So now I have stamping shirts-cheap tshirts I wear and I can wipe my hands on it with no remorse if I cant grab a rag fast enough.
Good story, glad there are plenty of us out there. Can I just ask though, whats an eclipse mat and how did it work with the hello die? Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I think the eclipse mat is a sticky mat like the cricut mat and she probably turned the word hello upside down on it so she could glue the backside of the word easier. I watched some of Jennifer McGuire's videos on that too. She has such fun videos. If I'm wrong, Shari will fill you in. This is just my thought on it.

Muscrat is correct - it is a sticky sheet from Sizzix which is, from what I understand, is not as sticky as the one from Cricut. I took one of the two pieces that come in a package and cut two 8 x 6 which fits perfectly in the MISTI and had two small pieces left which I use for gluing things that are very fine. Works really great.

Would it be possible to link to the Jennifer McGuire technique that's being referred to?
I've searched her site, but have been unable to come up with it.
TIA
What do you use the sticky mat for in relation to the MISTI? Does it collect dust and dog hair? Is it a must have?

MISTI newbie
The Eclipse Mat does collect dust, hair, etc. but I keep the plastic piece on it when not using it. I can't find the video that shows the following - so here goes.
I use this mat for stamp/die cut duos. Make a die cut NEGATIVE (I use black paper as it shows up better than white) with enough edging to stick on the paper. Take the clear stamp, lay it face down on a piece of scrap paper and cut around it leaving a nice edge around the entire piece. Lay this piece on the Eclipse Mat. Then lay the clear stamp in the center of it face down and pick it up with the lid. Stamp the image. Now take your negative and lay it on top of the stamped image centering it over the stamped piece and stick it down (this is why you need wide enough margins so it goes passed the edges of your scrap). Now die cut the piece you are going to stamp and lay it into the negative like a puzzle piece. Ink up and stamp and stamp on your piece. You can now stamp it more than once as the piece will not move.
I have noticed that if I don't trim my stamps so that all the edges are even, the stamp doesn't stamp right. I don't understand why, but that's been my experience.
I hope this has helped you. The video I used for my tutorial is put out by Jennifer McGuire.
