February 2021 MISTI Monday Challenge
Challenge Title: Embossing Love
Hostess: MISTI Monday
Keyword: MSP42
Date: February 1, 2021
Hello my friends! Well, I don't know about you, but I'm so happy January is done and over with. Thank you all for your kind words of sympathy for my friend, Tim. You are all so very sweet!
I haven't been able to get into my craft room, so I'm going to use a card I made earlier this month for a friend of mine, actually, my boss. He did something so very sweet and generous for me in December and I wanted to make him a special card to thank him.
This month's challenge is to make a square card. For some reason, I love making square cards for men. I have no idea why, but that's when I tend to make them.
This card uses a Concord and 9th stamp set and coordinating die. I actually think it's retired. I got it a couple years back. I picked out the teal paper, my favorite color, and embossed the leaves using clear embossing powder. I used my MISTI for this step so I could stamp the images twice with VersaMark ink to make sure I got all the little details of the image perfectly embossed. I took the word die and used gold embossing powder on the bottom half to add interest. I stamped For You in VersaMark and used white detail embossing powder for that. It turned out beautifully.
I spied this card on Pinterest some time ago, and whip it out now and again. I love the clean, simple, yet elegant, design for a quick card.
Good luck with your square card! You know with that large leaf, and the details it has, I would never be able to make it so crisp without my MISTI. Every time I use my MISTI, I quietly thank Iliana for inventing it. It sure makes my life so much easier and my stamping more fulfilling as my therapy. Stamping shouldn't stress us out and she has make my stamping much more relaxed and fun.
Good Luck to all! Happy February and Happy Valentine's Day!

Beautiful card! Very manly with the leaves and teal. Will add this to my list to create.

Such a beautiful, detailed leaf stamp. Thanks for the tip on using the Misti when using VersaMark ink! Great idea to get full coverage for embossing images!

This is a good card for a guy! I feel thankful for my Tim Holtz stamp platform too! I have used my stamps more since I got it a few years ago. Misti was too expensive for me and I think the stamp platform is just as good.

I originally planned to cut my DP down to a square, but left it 4 1/2" x 5" accidentally since I forgot it was supposed to be a square after I colored my image! LOL I did heat emboss my sentiment, thinking that was part of the challenge!
Happy Thoughts

I had to stamp the image 5 times using my Misti to get a clear impression for THIS SQUARE CARD. I can't imagine what I'd do without my Misti.

This is the card I made for this challenge. It was a fun card to make, thanks for the challenge. I don't often make square cards, used to think I had to send them in a square envelope and hated spending the extra on postage. Now I made them a 4" square so they fit in a regular A2 envelope!
Also...I just realized I have not used my gift certificate from my winning last month...what has kept me so busy?

Is this a place where it's okay to ask how you store your stamps yoiu have removed from the wood blocks so you can use them in the Misti? I was just about to start removing ALL my stamps from wood blocks but then got stuck on how to store them so they will be easy to find again, since they did not all come in sets with a plastic box for the set.
Should I be asking this some other place?

Someone else may answer you and maybe it should be in a different spot but I wouldn't know where to tell you post it...so...I'll answer!
If the stamp comes out of a clamshell box I put it back in there with the block...if it not from a set then I store mine in clear plastic boxes on pages (Gina K Designs used to sell them, not sure if she does anymore)
Some just go in a drawer...
Sounds all discombobulated but I know which ones are where so it works for me!

I think this is a question that goes under Organization. I know I have read many threads about this, but can't locate any of them right now. I have all of my wood mounted ones still on wood. I use them in the MISTI with a an old stamp helper. Dina made a tutorial with make your own helps: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/r...odmountsmisti/
