Default What is your favorite wet media art journal?

I'm just getting started in art journaling. I've bought a Moleskine sketch, which nice, but difficult to use for wet media, and a Moleskine Watercolor which I like except that it only comes in landscape orientationn. Also a large Dyan Reaveley mixed media journal, which is very heavy manila paper, so I'm still figuring out what is going to work on it other than her products, since I love her sprays and don't love the paints. I suppose if I gesso the pages I might be able to expand the posssibilities.

I'd rather work in a journal that was not spiral bound. Any favorites?

I'm taking that Bloknote Academy Art Journal Summer School and the one she had us get for that class is AMAZING - we're doing a ton of watercolor and collage and NOTHING bleeds through these pages and not a lot of warping either. I love it - it's this one from Strathmore.

I'd heard someone mention this one, Lydia. Good to have someone recommend it. !

Did you ever get around to reading Go Set a Watchman? I saw it on your list.

I downloaded it but then Louise Penny wrecked my schedule when the new one came out - so I felt like I needed to start the whole series over. LOL. So I'm up to Bury Your Dead.

I go both ways with gesso. It depends on the medium I working with, gelatos, acrylic paint, markers... and the desired outcome of project.
