Default MIX348: Band-It Goodness

Title: Band-It Goodness
Hostess: Janelle S (a.k.a. dizzymommie)
Keyword: MIX348

Browse this challenge's gallery.

Welcome to another mixed media challenge! This forum is a perfect place to dip into mixed media with simple challenges that make it easy and fun. Not sure what Mix-Ability is all about? Check out "What is the Mix-Ability Challenge" for details.

Here's our new challenge, use rubber bands!

A thought of a few ways to use them with little time and effort, although I want to see all your creative ideas in the projects of our challenge gallery. Just to get the mojo started here are my first three ideas.

Fig.1 - Mask with Rubber Bands

Tips:
  1. Protect a "plate" from your die cutting machine with plastic wrap or scrap of printer paper, then lay the cardstock on top and wrap your rubber bands around in a design. First few should not be crossed over each other for the most solid mask.
  2. Ink spray used for photo above example. Get a "print" from the spray left on the rubber bands by pressing another piece of cardstock over the top of the rubber bands (shown on right side of above photo)

Fig.2 - Rubber Band on wood block and stamp with ink

Fig.3 - Band together for Mark Making (a mixed media term for simple repeated marks on your project)

Get creative with the many ways to include rubber bands in your project, then upload your project and use "MIX348" as a keyword so it will be included in our gallery!

Oh, fun looking! I think my bag of mixed sizes is on the point of perishing but I have a ball of fresher ones that should work for this. I've done the wrapping them round a block and stamping, but I LOVE the look of your sprayed piece in the first photo, I'd like to try that. Looking forward to getting messy after work.

I've almost used the same technique as your wood block but with an acrylic block

I wished I would have had some wider rubberbands, but I just had to go with what I have. Here is my card for the challenge--
