Fall is almost here. It seems that I don't think about making fall projects with leaves until the leaves start to turn color. Bad thing is that by that time the leaves are already starting to "die" and are not as supple as they are when they are still green. There are lots of fun things you can do with leaves and mixed media. Here are a few ideas to get your creative energy jump started:
1. make a leaf rubbing with a crayon and real leaves.
2. stamp with a real leaf.
3. make a mono print using a gel plate, acrylic paint and real leaves.
4. pounded leaves (put your leaf between 2 sheets of paper and run them through an embossing machine) Thanks Angela for the reminder about this technique.
If you don't have any real leaves...
5. Use a leaf stamp.
6. Draw your own leaves on your project.
7. You can make a leaf embellishment using

I have shared some of the art I made using leaves. I did option #3 with my gel plate leaves and acrylic paint. I am going to use a couple of these to make cards. But as a reminder to you and to me as well, for it to be mixed media, it needs several different types of art medium. So I might add, ink, stamping, colored pencils, watercoloring... I will share in the challenge gallery. I hope you are inspired to create art.
