Happy Mix-Ability day! The last couple of weeks have felt pretty busy at my house... snow days and sick days have altered routines and added extra people energy to my usually-quiet days. I'm ready for some peace, but I'm feeling a little cluttered.
When I make cards, I usually reach for a white or solid panel for the focal image. Sometimes, though, it's interesting to have a pattern in the background. For this week's challenge, use a piece of patterned paper or cardstock as the base for your focal image. You can stamp over the pattern, color or paint on it, add to the pattern, or whatever moves you (just don't cover it all up!).
Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HEREfor a list of supplies you could choose from.
Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX264) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!
And actually, this is so funny because it's something I almost never do, but last weekend I made a card stamped on DP for an upcoming challenge. Slightly misread the tutorial  and had to make another one, but I loved the one I made on the DP. And it's far more "classical" mixed media, too.
A kind of remake (minus the slightly botched technique) of the card I made last weekend: MIX264 If You Go Down to the Woods Today... Luckily I still have a couple of sheets of the woodgrain DP left .
Just wanted to tell you Dina how much I enjoyed your tutorial this week! I actually made a card too, with the same stamp you used! I still can't comment on the tutorial to tell you, but I think someone is working on it now, as I started a thread.
Happy week-end!
Playing challenge catch-up cardmaking, this challenge asks you to use a patterned paper base...paint, stamp, or add on top...don't cover entirely.
My card uses strips of patterned paper, covered with a ink-sponged envelope flap at the top. My mediums: dye stamping ink, Copic markers (ribbon coloring), and printer ink.
