I've been playing and went spraying again.....watch this space I may go back to these panels and add white gesso to brighten them up although they do look darker in these photos than irl. Here's mine so far....there is stamping on there..lol

Good Morning and thanks for the smiles. Ha ha ....where do we go to find a wood stove
My pattern has a faint crackle texture if I look through my magnifying glass.
I will start another panel and keep this one for card backgrounds....too boring and structured....it’s not giving wild inspirations. I will get three steps in today to catch up.
Say bye to this bit.

I've withdrawn my canvas from the challenge; I'd rather work on it in my own directions, I think. I already did a bit of tinkering around with ideas yesterday afternoon.

But I've added colour to my card piece today using Brusho acrylic spray, shimmer spray and Lindy's Starburst. The cheaper washi tape has come a bit loose with the misting, but there's nice colour coming through the crackle. I think my image will be a snowman.

Looking gorgeous Sis Vicki:
I can see a mermaid swimming in this or at least some sea Menehunes.
Thanks for the kind words on my first bit but it has gone into the misfits bin for a later purpose. Lol

Default Crackle Paste on my pyjamas.

well I have come to the conclusion that crackle paste is just glorified molding paste LOL I added a tiny bit of Liquitex blending medium to my drying crackle paste in a small container with Brusho powders to make a sea blend and spread it over a 12X12 Sea Bubbles Stencil TCW which I originally bought for Gelli Printing.
Now waiting for crackles LOL
Determined to have a mermaid theme.

Default Note to Self...Read the Directions.

Well, I have come back 3 hours later and 3 coffees later and the paste is dry but no crackles. So I look on the back of the jar to see what I am doing wrong...It says to allow three or more days for curing and cracking. hmmmm
This may end up being a two week thread, In the meantime I am digging out my mermaids and all thing Oceana

That crisp white texture looks fantastic.

Glue and paint won't crackle any more once it's dry; I've done enough experiment with the faux barnboard technique to have learnt that...but it looks great and ready for an underwater scene with those circles.

I did some stamping on mine with difficulty, I don't have a lot of inks suitable for stamping on an acrylic base layer . Just as well I withdrew the canvas, stamping on that texture would be hard.

Giggles at Sis Sabrina... you caught me in my tracks of my bubbles lol....yours is great too but I was just thinking the same about the Stamping being able to take since it does have a leather like feel and finish sort of protective coat at this stage...,so I guess all Stamping will need to be fussy cut on . Mahalo for the advise of your experiences greatly appreciated!! Sure will save time and frustration and getting my granny undies is a bunch!! Lol

StazOn will dry, and Ranger's Archival. Some pigment inks should too, with time and/or heat. Or you can use regular inks and heat emboss...which is what I often do anyway when working on gesso, to minimise the risk of unwanted smudging when I don't wait long enough for it to dry.

The heat shouldn't be a problem...and the stray flecks will work with the mixed media vibe .

I have no idea, but my guess is that Ky would be planning to have it wrapped up before the next MIX challenge on Friday. Many people wouldn't have the time to be working on two projects the same day.

I hear you there ....lately my health has been not so great . I might have picked up allergies in my ole age ....I can’t keep up as I use too lol. I been falling behind on my teapot which I loved doing but getting to the PO as really been a challenge in itself for me this past few month and it don’t look as if it’s going to get better . So sort of slowed my roll there sadly. We see what this year brings I still have your gap/bridge in my head but that’s already flew by my seat of my pants lol now let’s see if I can keep up with this one lol

Good morning! Everyone has such lovely panels, simply gorgeous.

Thank you, Sabrina, for the tip about inks to use. I will have to think about that as I have limited types of ink. I have distress ink, distress oxide ink, dye ink, versamark, and one or two pigment inks. Hmmm....

I had to search hard to find my favorite mermaid parts. Decided to use one of the texture pieces from my first piece to cut the tail out of. I then colored my background with more Dr Ph Martin’s inks bu adding drops of color and spritzing heavily with water. I stayed with cool colors.
Then I added some text which is really sheet music colored with D.r Ph Martin’s Viridian watercolor ink. My mermaid’s tail needed some more magic so I spread the colors over with Liquitex glass beads. It will dry clear. Hope I didn”t ruin it. Then I will fit the torso. I will find some text to add last. Something mermaidish..lol

That’s the most difficult part. Finding stuff when you need it. Take my mermaids. They were hiding in a word document. I did blow them up an inch or two because my background is art journal size.
