Is it really only Tuesday? Dang!

olika 01-30-2013 04:13 AM

Very excited here! Have been wanting to learn how to do mixed-media!! Thanks for the opportunity!

tygerpaws11 01-30-2013 04:17 AM

OMG gelatos count?!?! Oh how I love them!!! I hoard mine, too, tho. Time to break them out!
KJ - I have 3 I could send you from my CHA class if you wanted to try them. I will warn you they are addictive! PM me your addy if you want them. They're like adult crayons that blend like butter.

Cook22 01-30-2013 08:52 AM

I think I have everything in the shopping list!
I just don't know if I have time, that's the real sticking point - but I'll certainly keep up to date with this because it sounds fun, and I like being stretched.

Colleen Schaan 01-30-2013 11:10 AM

Can't wait to see the creativity here! What a great idea!!!

Arizona Maine 01-30-2013 11:58 AM

I have in my craft arsenal; Derwent watersoluble ink pencils, gelatos, Adirondack acrylic paint dabbers (dried to stone), Ranger mixatives, Distress stains and etc... Seals have NOT been cracked. Can't wait to find out
WHAT TO DO WITH THEM!
Thank you SCS experts for this forum!

This sounds fun, I'm up for a new look. I've been dying to do "she art" but I don't know where to start!

pattyb 01-30-2013 02:57 PM

I'd love to make this:

Ksnurse 01-31-2013 02:05 PM

I'll still be up....just sayin

pattyb 01-31-2013 02:42 PM

I think you should just post it now for those of us watching so we know what we're getting into this first time

Clownmom 01-31-2013 02:51 PM

It seems that this challenge will give us a chance to use all those things we bought at stamp shows and never got around to using! I have things on my shelf that have never even been opened.

I have a whole stack of ntl geo pages that I "stripped" using a technique that Lydia shared a while ago & have been itching to do something with them! I think they'll make a good starting point for something.

huh....do share what this "stripping" technique is....as long as it doesn't involve poles that is....

mamaxsix 01-31-2013 05:36 PM

As a pastor's wife I can guarantee that no poles were involved in my stripping! I'm on my Nook so I can't link at the moment. I think Lydia used it during her HYCCT challenge to get messy with a technique. It was basically spraying an orange based solvent on the pages til the ink ran and wiping some of it off. The result is really cool!

pattyb 01-31-2013 05:39 PM

So we haven't brow beater her into posting it? Sigh, I'll have to check at break tomorrow, it's bedtime for me.

superjen 01-31-2013 06:18 PM

Patty, if it's what I'm thinking Gail is talking about, it is here:

Project Reanimate: Join me on the Titanic

It caught my eye because I am a Citrasolve junkie. Cleans like a dream, smells like oranges. Of course, I will take Pine-Sol if it means I don't actually have to do any cleaning myself.

mamaxsix 01-31-2013 06:20 PM

Here's the link for the CitraSolv Magic Technique ....and Lydia's blog post with her awesome samples. Once you get started I'll predict you get addicted!

UnderstandBlue 01-31-2013 06:53 PM

Hee hee! I've got the jimmy leg over here - dying to post! :)

mamaxsix 01-31-2013 06:55 PM

Argh Lydia you are such a tease! I finally got off splitcoast and told myself I could wait until morning and then you throw up that taunt on fb. Guess I might still be awake.

dini 01-31-2013 06:56 PM

Ooh, that reminds me of something sparkly I bought at a stamp show last year that I never used. Hmmmmmm...

When you list chalks - do you mean chalk inks?

I meant chalk pastels, but chalk ink FOR SURE works in that category!
