Yay, a new Mix-Ability challenge!! We hope you're having fun with these!
Each time we post a new challenge, it makes me push myself just a little bit more in my art. I'm going to push you this week too... don't get mad!
For this week's challenge, I want you to add some doodling to your project with your non-dominant hand.
Before you hyperventilate, I assure you that there's a reason! I read an article recently where the author talks about using the non-dominant hand "to silence our inner critic" - in her exercise she sketched images with her left hand, and found that instead of drawing from memory she was really forced to look at the actual objects she was drawing. That helped her to really see the object, and let go of her usually 'programmed' process. It's an interesting concept!
You can draw an image if you want.
Doodle a border or pattern, or add some details to a watery reflection.
Use a glaze pen or a gel pen if you're afraid of a dark outline.
I am a recovering perfectionist, and I loved the looseness that I was able to achieve with my right hand on the lines I added to the flower petals in the samples below. Here's one:
Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HERE for a list of supplies you could choose from. If you want to start these challenges in the pages of an art journal instead of a card, or on scrapbook pages, or on 3D items - please know - ANYTHING is welcome! We want you to learn and enjoy!

Ack!!!! Dina, you've got to be kidding. I hyperventilate when I see a challenge asking me to doodle with my dominant hand, even. I'll have to see if I have something suitable for your stencil reflection to help me in to this challenge, LOL. Then I think I'll need to cut my own stencil...why do I have to work today!!!

I am with Sabrina!!! I Love the IDEA of the challenge though! Hubby is home today so I don't know that I will get a card out today but I am going to ENJOY looking at the gallery!!! All the samples are gorgeous! Dina I love the sentiment on the 2nd card. Makes me stop and think!!!
I can see doodling some lines or loops here and there. But wait. Kyra DREW that background?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! With her non-dominant hand?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Holy cow!

I was hoping it was a stamp . I don't yet have a good any poinsettia stamp yet because I've been making my dies earn their keep for the last couple of years, but it's getting to be time to add one to my collection.
Here's my rather pathetic attempt. It was so hard to not use my right hand. And even harder to get a good flow of ink. I should have used one of my new Pitt pens, but then I'd have had to come up with a whole different card design predicated on dominant black doodling instead of discreet white.

Dini- your challenge using my "off hand" as my DS calls it- was just what I needed for my apple challenge card today (F4A237). Used Flourishes' Bike Ride for my images, and a red sharpie for my apples. Finished with some ribbons, and a yellow punched border scrappy. Here's Bike with Apples

Hi all! I do not own stamps, so I traced my image onto vellum and used pointillism to render it. I used Prisma color markers and oil pastels, here is my card.
