Hello and welcome to another fun Mix-Ability Challenge! Our goal is to make mixed media, easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
If you want to start these challenges in the pages of an art journal, instead of a card, or on scrapbook pages, or on 3D items - please know - ANYTHING is welcome! We want you to learn and enjoy!
My challenge today can get a little messy! But never fear, messy is FUN! Simply incorporate any drip technique you prefer or want to try! I recommend caking on a border of Gelatos on watercolor paper and then using a dropper of water to allow drips of the color to drip across the page
Besides Gelatos, you can pretty much use any medium to create a drip effect:
-Re-inkers with watered down brush
-Markers with water down brush
-Spray Inks (remove nozzle and drip!)
-Acrylic Paint
-ANY medium you have on hand!
You can use any tool to facilitate the drip:
-dropper
-paint brush
-water brush
-foam brush
-a straw
-heat gun (blow the water across the page)
I made a video for you showing you how to use the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Art Grip Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils with a dropper of water:
<object width="640" height="480"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/Es9_17KOhcM?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/Es9_17KOhcM?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
LOL at the jellybeans.
I know we're meant to be looking at the drip techniques ;-), but as an extra, for the first time ever I want some washi tape!!
Thanks for the great video. I'll be home late today but DH is out tomorrow so I'm sure to get time to play over the weekend if not today.
I tried the hairdryer on drips, and it didn't work out the way I wanted. The colors followed their previous path. I thought this worked better. I hope you like it.

Um....did anyone end up with a panel that looks like they have dozens of creepy alien legs on their panel! LOL! I was going for August Nights and I got alien legs. I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet!

HAHAHA! I'm typically quite controlled in my drippage. Alien legs is a hazard of the drip, drip, drip technique ;) We sound so technical, don't we?!

HAHA - I was really scared of my first attempt - I think because I was being too timid. I think I can still make it into something though
