Default MIX151 - Tie Dye Tissue (12-18-15)

CHALLENGE TILE: MIX151 - TIE DYE TISSUE
HOSTESS: MARILYNN
KEYWORD: MIX151

VIEW GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE

I saw this really neat idea on THIS BLOG

My challenge today is to tie dye some tissue paper. Use that tissue paper on a project with one more medium.
Remember for your project to qualify it needs to have at least 2 different types of artist mediums. Your project can be a card but if your creativity takes you somewhere else that is ok too.

When uploading make sure to use the KEYWORD: MIX151. It is suggested that you copy the keyword to avoid typos. I am excited to see what you create.

This technique turned out much better than I anticipated using it on a much smaller scale. Thanks, MariLynn.

That looks really neat, MariLynn. Thinking I might try it with Brushos, though I am guessing you scribbled with markers on your plastic? Won't get anything finished in daylight today, though, but I'll make a start!

You are right Sabrina. I did scribble with markers on my plastic. I think if I do it again I would go with more color to dip it into. It took so long for the tissue paper to soak up my colors.

Cool technique, Marilyn. This takes me back to my years as a preschool teacher when we used to do this with round coffee filters; the kids loved it and I haven't thought of that in years. If I can carve any time out between wrapping gifts and addressing Christmas cards, I definitely plan to try this!

I had a try - but I think my sheet of tissue was too big. By the time I unfolded it, if I cut it to card front size you don't see much of the effect. It's still probably worth making something with, till I have time to try again.

I hope deli paper is an ok substitute for tissue paper. Thanks for the messy fun MariLynn.

Sorry to be so late! I'll be trying this again, but wanted to make something with the piece of tissue I dyed last week.

And I might try with deli paper too, seeing how well Susie's turned out.
