Happy Mix-Ability day! Are you ready for a new challenge? I'm keeping it simple today - I want you to use some kind of wax medium on your project. You can use wax-based pencils, crayons, beeswax, Inka Gold or another wax-based rub-on, MicroGlaze... as long as it's wax, it works!
I used MicroGlaze in my favorite way on my project... using my finger, I rubbed it through a stencil...
On my craft mat I diluted some white acrylic paint and gently brushed it over the stenciled area.
When the paint was dry, I just rubbed the wax over the panel! You can get some fun effects by heating it too.
The result is a crisp, stenciled resist, and the panel has a nice finish when you're done.
Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HERE for a list of supplies you could choose from. If you want to start these challenges in the pages of an art journal instead of a card, or on scrapbook pages, or on 3D items - please know - ANYTHING is welcome! We want you to learn and enjoy!
Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX132) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!
Wonderful challenge, Dina! Made me dig out my Prismas...they've been lonely! Here's my Chickadee Christmas, combined w/ several DTGD challenges. Thanks so much for looking!
This challenge took me way out of my comfort zone. I used a white crayon for my waxed medium and then used embossing paste with my stencil. I also combined this with the DTGD challenge- Northern Lights for a spooky card. You can see it HERE.
