Challenge Title: Sentiment Mash-Up
Hostess: Janelle (a.k.a. Dizzymommie) Keyword: MIX107 Check out the MIX107 gallery! Need a sentiment and there isn't one in your stash? Let's have a sentiment mash-up! This week's challenge is to create a new sentiment from at least two sources. You can even mash up your own handwriting with stamped sentiments or magazine words. Here are some ideas to get you started, but don't be limited by this list. Think up ways to create a fun sentiment. Bold words and calligraphy words. Large words with small words. Stamped words and handwritten words. It takes two or more mediums for your project to be mixed media so toss in some paint, inkers, pencil, fabric, magazine pages, whatever works for your style and have some fun! Upload your project with the challenge keyword, MIX107, to build our sentimentally mashed-up gallery! Thank you for playing along this week and... Happy Valentines! |
This challenge is so much fun. I got hit with so many ideas all at once - I may need to get checked for a concussion!

Cool idea!! I love early posts which give me time to think at work.

To recover here's a simple home remedy. 1. Chill wood mounted rubber stamp in refrigerator. 2. Apply to affected area for 5 minutes. 3. Look in mirror for good impression. 4. Repeat until all good impressions have been found that hit you for this challenge. Warning! Failure to use clean stamp will result in the wrong impression. |
Thanks for the fun challenge that had me rummaging through my stamp sets. I didn't want the sentiment to take over the focus so I kept it simple.

I stencilled part of my sentiment, with modelling paste and glitter, and stamped the other part, adding Glossy Accents. Which, since it's a grey, grey, grey day here, I couldn't really get to show.
Actually, the stencil sentiment in full is "be true to you", so all I did was substitute the stencilled you with the stamped. But that gives it a whole different layout and feel ;-). And now I have a whole lot of glitter everywhere. For mediums, I have the Glossy Accents, modelling paste and Enamel Accents as well as my inks :D. |
Well, I may have stretched the MIX part to ends of the galaxy, but I did combine the 2 greetings :) Here's my Shamrock Rain. Thanks so much for looking!

I got the two different fonts for my Mix107, but only the triple elements in my F4A260. Hope that is okay!

I haven't done a challenge in a long time so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not very good at hand lettering but if I'm going to get better I have to practice. The lettering includes stamped, computer generated, tissue paper, and hand lettering.

Mini Welcome Burlap Canvas
I created this for the mini challenge, posted it but was not quite happy with it. Then this challenge popped up and forced me to pull this back out and finish it. I thought the sentiment words were a bit flat so I colored, 3d crystal painted and finished them off with glossy accents. I like this version much better, it hangs right by our door welcoming guests.

I have been gone, and am behind on the challenges. Here is one for this challenge.
Thank you Red |
Thank you for this super challenge! The stamp reads I like you berry much, and I think the berry looks so cute with the big tail on the y. But it has limited use - after my hubby, who else can I send that card to?!! But you inspired me to block out the other parts of the sentiment and write in something else to make it more versatile. Here is my berry card.
