Default Wall cabinets

Ok, so my eyes are blurry and my mind is mush. I have been looking in the gallery at all the photos of studios. Due to lack of floor space, I need to use our walls when we do our room in Sept. I see all the photos with cabinets on the walls, but would love to know how you organize INSIDE the cabinet.

Anyone game enough to take some photos for me???? If you have followed any of my gazillion other organization questions about studios, you must be sick of my questions by now....don't blame you at all!!! LOL!

I look forward to hearing from you!

Saw this Rubbermaid spice rack the other day and thought how great it would work above a desk.

Wouldn't work in my stamp room, but I may get that for my kitchen!

So, here I sit after looking through yet more photos. And what I have come to realize is, I really would prefer not to do shelving where I can view everything. I would need to put bins or baskets in and fill them. For me...(I AM NOT JUDGING ANYONE), all the papers and ribbons and such out are overwhelming. I want to be able to close everything up and walk away neat and tidy. Ok...so nothing about me IS neat and tidy, but now I kind of know what direction to go in.
So, pricing things at Ikea and moving forward from there.
Still would love to see the inside of some of those cabinets!!!!!

Hugs to all

couldn't agree more. Besides, how do you hide your stash from DH if he can see it growing?

I had DH make me shelfs to put all my stamp sets on in Alphabetical order. Hahahaha. He even put dowling on the bottom of it for all my ribbon rolls. It works great as it is on the wall above my work station. That way when I am done with a stamp set, I just put it away.

Kath...yes, wall cabinets is what we are looking at. I was on Ikea last night and realized that we can do what has to get done for under $500.00. So, I'll save up and we can do it in the fall. I will be going through my stuff and storing alot of things that I have bought for our other business (personalized favors) and removing them from the room. By the time I do that I will have much more space than I actually need.
As for hiding things from hubby.....LOL! Well, he is the one that usually encourages me to buy!!!! Crazy right????

Thanks all.
Still would love to see the inside of those cabinets.
(Thinking of going back to the gallery and PM'ing people to see if they would be willing to take photos and share!)

You could do the Jetmax cubes, they helped me organize everything, and its easy to find my things, all drawers are now labeled! I have pictures here on my blog if you would like to see!!

http://sweeetdesignsbycheryl.blogspo...raft-room.html

You can make them as high as you want, and use as many as you need! I still want more of these hehehehe

Goodluck to you!

Paula, I use the same thing for inside my cabinets that I do on my shelves. For embellies, I use small spice jars (Ikea) or compartment jewelery boxes (HL). For flowers, ribbons, larger embellies, I use larger candy jars (HL has them 50% off almost every week). For 8.5x11 paper, either magazine boxes or a hanging file cabinet. For tools, you can attach your Bygel rails (Ikea) to the inside of your along the back and hang your punches in there. For markers, pens, etc you can use a cute cutlery caddy. For small paper pads, cuttlebug folders, etc Target has some cute CD boxes in their storage section that can hold these.

HTH!

I don't have pictures of all of my cabinets open, but I do have a picture of my cs/dp for scrapbooking and card making cabinet open in my gallery.

Currently my cabinets are all emptied and in my garage while our basement gets new walls, ceiling and flooring so I can't take any more pictures. Hopefully everything will be very organized when I put it back in, at least for a few days. I do know that I will be purging some unused things that I discovered while taking everything out of the cabinets and boxing them up.

Paula Anne... I am a craigslist fanatic... maybe you could check your local craigslist for some cabinets.... some people post them on there when they are redoing their kitchen. Just a thought from a thrify minded stamper!

Or if you have a cabinetmakers shop nearby sometimes they make projects & for whatever reason they are not installed in a home, business ect. & you can pick them up cheaper. But an even better way is to see what they do w/ the cabinets they remove from homes when someone does a kitchen makeover. Most times these are dumpster bound & you may be able to pick up some real beauties for nothing. My daughter got cabinets in her laundry room that way, other daughter & myself cabinets for the garage. Besides Danielle's idea of Craig's List you might also try freecycle.org

I read through your thread and had to laugh. I think that the answer is that no one has photos to show you of the inside of their cabinets. I'm sorry; I don't have cabinets.

Hi Paula,

We just finished my studio and I'm like you, I wanted cabinets. My room is small in comparison to others I've seen, so we needed to go up. We did have custom cabinets built and I LOVE them. I had the cabinet guy come look at my room when it was really a mess. My contractor suggested this, so he could see what I needed. I was using metal shelves. One thing he made were wall cubbies for my stamp sets and I love them. The shelves are adjustable so I can also store 12 X 12 paper there. I have wall cabinets and floor cabinets. The floor cabinets I had some pull out shelves made and they are wonderful for my ribbon and other things.

I am almost finished purging and organizing my stuff. I have an open house next week, so it has to be done by then. I'll post pics as soon as I'm finished. I have some pics on my blog when it was finished, but nothing was in there.

Oh, and I'll take pics of the inside of the cabinets too. For now, it will look half organized, but not for long. I use a lot of clear plastic storage - I'm not a labeler, but I like to see what's in the containers.

FYI - I've been stamping for 18 years, so I really had a lot of stuff. It's been very difficult deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. I know I'll still organize more once I'm in there and find out what works and what doesn't.

Sorry - didn't mean to be so long.

Hi Paula Ann,

We moved in March and in April we started building a new art studio for me in our basement. It is finally done and I finished unpacking my stuff and putting it away last night! LOL

I just posted on my blog about it and there are some photos of the insides of the cabinets.

You can find them HERE.

Beautiful room! I'm so jealous. I do have a bedroom for myself but I share it with a treadmill and an exericise bike as well as the stuff for the cats. I just need to get it better organized and cabinets on the wall. I have shelves and I hate them as everything gets dusty!

Colleen what an awesome room. It looks like it is the size of my whole HOUSE!!!! LOL!
How wonderful. And thanks a ton for the sharing of the photos of the cabinets. Because we moved some Ikea cabinets in from the old kitchen, we are going to head back there and pick up the few I will need to complete the look. We have a decent desk, but my husband wants to get rid of that and get a more streamlined desk from Ikea too. (I dont' want to spend the money...LOL!).

Betty, I am eagerly awaiting your photos. I am sure it will be beautiful!

Thanks everyone. You're the greatest

Cheryl GREAT ROOM! Is that an Ikea pantry that you have there (the tall one)? Love the layout. Wish we could use the jetmax cubes, but we don't have floor space only 1 wall and have to make it all work. I am sure I can do it. Looking forward to being able to work on the room and get going on cards again!

Thank you hun!!! The cabinets were all here and the counter too, when we bought our home here. I just added all the Jetmax cubes, and the table. I hope you figure out how to go about designing your new space! Storage is the key though, and it helps to keep your space clean. My space stays clean now....LOL Never did before, when I had 3 tables in here, it always seemed messy :( Anyways You will have to update us with pics of your space when you get it completed Cant wait to see, its always nice to see others rooms

Hugs!!!!!
