Smile In Which I Solve the DIY 12x 2 Paper Pad Storage Box Materials Problem

I'm crazy happy that I finally found a solution for making these damn things! I am not one to toot my own horn, but I get the idea this is something that confounds a lot of craft organizers, and I spent 2 months trying to figure out how to do this in Q2 2020. This is the short version of what is going up in my Gallery post. I will be posting a bigger rendition of this with source links soon and will edit this when I do that.

Chipboard needed to make this size box does not grow on trees in the United States. (The UK crafters have it so easy with their A3 chipboard, darn it). Large chipboard is also apparently a largely unknown commodity in general unless you are into a couple of other hobbies like book binding or cartonnage. I do the latter but am new at it, and it requires a LOT of materials, which are often large in dimensions: namely Chipboard, Plain Cardstock and paper to cover the box.

Been learning cartonnage techniques on Youtube for the last 6 months and finally felt able to take this on. Found a source for BIG dimension chipboard heavy enough for a box capable of storing 75 pounds of Designer Paper Pads. This is not a box meant to be moved or carried. Below is a pic. Not capable of making a video but will take the time to post a light template and screenshots in the Templates area here in the Forums if anyone wants dimensions and source links.

IndigoBlue- That turned out beautifully. Is that paper BoBunny? I have a migraine and it's probably EchoPark, ROFL! I know some of you are like "Girl, you know that is not even close to EchoPark, lol.

Your box is beautiful. I am so glad you nailed it. I know you were so frustrated.

Sorry DeeAnn. Not BoBunny or Echo Park

Paper Pad in front is a really old (8 years) Brenda Walton - K & Company.

Have 2 of them, and they are in front because they have 3d stickers, which I don't want to get crushed. Oh and, these might be the last 2 of this pad that were being sold in the US. I was damn lucky to get these 2.

The paper on the box is also K & Company, ironically and that is actually PAPER, not Cardstock, from a huge 360 page Pad with papers from Susan Winget. Also 8 years old. Which is why you had trouble ID'ing it, heh. That pad, which came from Amazon, just went out of stock this week. Doubt any more are coming.

I had to some tricky stuff with the paper, because the box is a good 1.25 inches wider than 12 x 12 paper.

So I guess you could say the box itself is kinda vintage. LOL. And half of what is IN the box is old paper which I found here and there online. If I had to guess (or I could just run the numbers from Airtable) there is about $300 bucks of paper in that box.

I knew it wasn't Echo Park.

I was definitely trying to ID the paper from the box. I had a bad migraine last night but I could see Brenda's paper in the front. Brenda is such a doll I can always identify her paper. I use to buy a lot of it, lol.

I feel silly about not ID'ing Susan's paper. Not that I am an ID guru or anything. I should have recognized the Robin because I own the ephemera pack, lol.

Indigo you are going to have to catch up. Three hundred in the box alone. Nope, you are not there yet. One of my friends just did a paper inventory for insurance purpose. Wait for it????? $50,000. Yes, she owns that much in paper. She almost fainted. I did tell her she's been collecting for thirty years.

I probably have over $5,000 in paper. You are going to have to catch up, ROFL!
