Default Got my Aqua cart from Ikea!

Love it! It's much larger and sturdier than I thought it would be. I had read somewhere they didn't have the Aqua anymore, but they did!

Stored items-
Top-Embossing folders and a sectioned box with sponges
Middle-Bic Markers, the few copics I have, and cuttlebug plates
Bottom-some coloring books, watercolor wonder crayons, and extra ATG tape

Love it. I've only bought one other new storage item in the 10 years I've stamped. The rest of my storage is repurposed. I'm in love!

$29.00 is a great price!!

I have that same one and if I had the room, I would buy another. So handy to use and they are super sturdy. Enjoy!!

I got one several months ago, but it's the silver grey, which is fine for me.

I have dueling hobbies, paper and crochet. So far the crochet has won the space in the cart. I've been keeping lots of yarn in mine. It is a lovely, sturdy cart and the price was great.

So, do you all think that that gorgeous turquoise Raskog cart would handle being filled with punches?

YES! I have two. The first one has card making stuff and the second has PL. They are so sturdy and solid. I roll them all over the house, depending on where I'm working. I waited far too long for the first one...and then waited too long for the second one. Hey, maybe I need a third for my punches!!!! LOVE this cart and it is such a good value...plus it looks really cute

Yes!

I may have to get another! It rolls so easy!

I love having my framelits and embossing folders at my finger tips!

I now I have a place for my coloring books and the jelly roll pens I use with them.

I've had one Raskog in another area for years, and bought a second one a few months ago for my office/craft room. It's a tough and mighty little cart and rolls like buttah. You can decide where to place the middle tray.

Bygel containers slip over the the side and end edges beautifully if you want to expand its use. BYGEL Container - IKEA

Unfortunately Ikea only sells Bygels in the stores, and they're much more expensive on Amazon. But if you put out of your mind the insanely cheap 99 cent Ikea price, five for $11 or three for $9 isn't the end of the world. I have all white, which plays nice with my aqua and my gray carts.

(We're an hour from two Ikeas but once I ordered from Amazon since half a day and lines and hassle cost too.)

Walmart has a similar cart for $30 - not as cute but maybe easier for some to buy if you don't have IKEA close by.

I live overseas and that same Ikea cart costs close to $70 here! I got mine on sale for $40 and am very happy with it (even at that price)!

My Grand Calibur sits in the top, with embossing folders and smaller dies in the middle, and the bigger dies with plates on the bottom. I have the Grundtal magnetic kitchen containers on the side with some washi tape and paperclips, and there is a utensil holder (don't know the name) that i fastened to the side for pencil, markers and scissors.

I think I need another one for my stamps! I've seen lots of hacks for these.. especially good ones for project life cards.

Just an FYI that IKEA has discontinued the Turquoise and Grey carts. Here's from a Facebook post on the Pimp my Raskog group:

Straight from the mouths of the UK, USA and Canada IKEA headquarters, no less!

When the new catalogues are released in July/August:

UK USA

The Turquoise and Charcoal/Dark Grey carts will be retired.
They will be replaced with one new colour to accompany the Cream cart.
IKEA have not discontinued or stopped manufacture of all of the carts, just the turquoise and the charcoal/dark grey.

 CANADA

When the new catalogue releases, there will be two new finishes joining the Råskog family.
They have neither confirmed or denied that any colours will leave the Canadian range.

 AUSTRALIA

They have confirmed to me today that the Dark Grey/Charcoal is going to be discontinued.
They are checking with their national product team about the Turquoise and will confirm when they can, at this stage they think it will stay on the Australian market.

 DENMARK

From August, the Turquoise and Dark Grey/Charcoal will no longer be sold in Denmark.
The cream cart will be joined by two new colours in Denmark.

Debbie, I looked through many pages of carts on the Walmart site, and couldn't find this one. Do you have a link, please?

A friend had the one from Walmart and it is very wobbly and not as good as the Ikea cart. If you plan to put any amount of weight in the cart, stick with the Raskog.

Good point. I'm thinking of putting my crochet stuff, yarn, etc. in the Walmart cart, and then using my Ikea one for heavier stamping stuff.

You're welcome! The Walmart in our area (Atlanta) had a huge stack of them in front of the fabric department near electronics.

Or for bricks if you're a brick layer.

I'm exaggerating but maybe not by a whole lot.

Acrylic paints, gel medium, gesso, sprayers, brayers, inks, Gelli plates, paper, mists, bottled inks, stencils, Art Foamies and the like live in two trays of my non-offic/craftroom Raskog. IOW, the messy stuff I work on in the kitchen.

The bottom tray often holds a cat. If she's in it when we need to put her in the bedroom or kitchen for some reason, we just roll her in.

I just ordered online for pick up today at my Walmart! Thanks again for the link.

By the way, Leslie, the reviews on this cart say it is sturdy and well made. Some people used it for sewing machine, computers, etc. I'm hoping your friend has a different concept of "wobbly" than I do, lol. We will see. Sometimes just tightening screws up can make a difference.

I ordered mine online and picked it up this afternoon. I think that means they did have them in stock at the store, and just put mine at the service desk.

Sometimes I do that if they offer pick up on the same day. It's easier than wandering around trying to find something, or worse, to find out that the last one got bought just before I got to the store.

It's still in the box, but I'll post about it when I get it assembled.

I hear that! I'm in Henderson off Stephanie - where are you in the valley? My DH and I just strolled through last weekend to drool and see what's what. I'm planning a re-vamp of my craft space to make it more consolidated and cuter, since it's one wall in our guest bedroom (and the closet). I don't think the Harbor Freight workbench really goes with the decor, lol! The aqua Raskog cart will definitely go, though, so it's on the list (maybe even two of 'em), along with a couple of other things.

Checking back in about the Mainstays cart from Walmart. I ordered online and picked it up at the store the same day. Very convenient, and no shipping.

Today I put the cart together. It was easier and much quicker to assemble than the Ikea cart. No tools or screws required. They included a little wrench to tighten the bolts on the wheels, which screw easily into the bottom.

It really does seem sturdy to me, not wobbly at all. I will say the Ikea cart has two pieces of tubing going up each side by the trays, and the Mainstay cart only has one.

Also, the trays for the Mainstay are perforated metal all over, sides and bottom. The Ikea has solid sides on the trays, with only the bottom perforated. To me, this is a plus for the Mainstay, as it isn't as heavy and is easier to push around. You can see the difference in the picture posted previously.

It seems to be very well made, and all the pieces went together perfectly - good machine work on all the threads that needed to be tightened.

I think it will work very well as I intend to use it - holding yarn and crochet supplies.

If you don't live near an Ikea or don't want to pay shipping, I recommend you check this out at Walmart.com, or even see if your Walmart has them in stock at the store already. It's a pretty good bargain for $29.00.

Nice that there are alternatives. Two Ikeas are within an hour in either direction so I'm set.

I find the Raskog extremely easy to push or pull. Even with two trays packed with large acrylic paint tubes, gesso/gel medium jars, watercolor pads, Gelli plates, plus other fairly heavy supplies, six filled Bygel containers hooked onto the edges and a 10-pound cat in the bottom tray, I can reach and pull it over to me with one finger.

In fact I have to be careful to hold on to it when pushing it so it doesn't roll away. Once my husband, being a man, was letting it go and then grabbing it as he went down the hallway with our cat in it. The Raskog went flying. He caught it before it - with our cat - crashed.

I put EVERY die I own in the top 2 sections of my Raskog, and believe me, I have a lot of dies - there was no problem whatsoever. I live in an old house with old wood floors; the wheels on the cart made an indentation where I moved it. That is one sturdy cart!

If you haven't already seen them and you need drawer units, you might want to check out Ikea's Alex. They come in several sizes, and can be put on casters or not. You can also put a desk/table top on top of the shorter ones. I have a narrow and wide shorter unit.

If you google "ikea alex" and select "images" you'll see lots of permutations. Jennifer McGuire has a number of them lined up and integrated into a custom design.

It's actually called "Pimp My Raskog" and it is a great group. Lots of suggestions and ideas on how to bling out and use your Raskog. There's over 10,000 members in the group.

I've been out your way plenty of times! Amber is close to you, then (sprtchick). Maybe a bit farther out Blue Diamond than you are... AND - I just bought my aqua Raskog TODAY! I'm going to put it together tomorrow (too many other things going on tonight, darn it)! I got three of the Bygel cuppy thingies, too (I'm really up on the technical terms of things, don't ya know...)

I have a grey one that I use in the powder room as a caddy for Kleenex, guest towels, toilet paper, etc. I love it an have been debating getting another for stamping, plants, and other uses. Thanks for letting me know.

My hairstylist has one, and I thought she had a clever idea. She flipped the top shelf, so she has a flat/flush top to the Raskog. I thought that might be interesting if you wanted to use your Big Shot on top without moving it. It also gives a higher surface. Hope this is clear!

The Schaumburg IL IKEA still has over two dozen of the aqua Raskog carts and they are not marked as a close out item. But the Bolingbrook IL store only has a couple of assembled Aqua "floor models" and they are marked as closeout.

Thank you for this - I have two ikea carts, and some of those baskets... and never thought to use them together!
