Thanks!

I am going to move my Impression Obsession dies to their own folder next and then I'll upload them.

<--- Late to the party, as always

I've almost finished a file with all of the Spellbinders dies and their images.

(yes, sometimes I'm a little crazy)

I want to see all the dies, not just what I own. I'm thinking of adding a tag called HAVE and perhaps a tag called WANT to indicate those things. Thoughts?

Hey don't stress LOL I included a tag with location. You could use the WANT as the beginning of the title then it would keep those together easily

I have a question as a newbie. I thought that I had read, somewhere, that when you search for words, that the program will automatically "read" your images and find them for you, without you having to add that as a tag. Am I crazy?

If there isn't a way to do this, how do you all add in your sentiments? Do you write them in as a tag?

Karen, I have been using Evernote for some time now. I scan the covers to all my stamps, Spellbinders, etc, that I buy so those are the images I use. And yes, when you search on words like birthday or wedding, etc. it does pick them up from the images. I don't usually have to worry about tagging sentiments.

The images I use are sometimes so huge that I usually just copy them into a Word document then copy from that into Evernote. That is the quickest way to "downsize" the image to fit into Evernote.

I scan and save a PDF, is this a similar size? I've downloaded Evernote and haven't started yet. I'm waiting for all of you to figure it out and then I'll follow

Oh, I figured there was some super-obvious method that I just wasn't seeing!

If anyone wants the notebook when I'm done, I can provide that. It should be a couple of days or so at the most.

And if anyone else is a little tech-savvy, and has an excel spreadsheet of data they want to upload with each line as an individual note, I have a macro that will do that. It won't upload any embedded images. It will upload a title, a tag, and a note.

OK, I am technologically challenged..does anyone have a video on YouTube of how you get started using EverNote to catalogue stamping supplies? Do you make a new "note" or "notebook" for each stamp set? I am more of a visual person and would love if someone could share a file they have made or a video they have made so I can see it. Thanks

I think if you have the premium version, it will read the words in images....I typed all the sentiments in my stamp sets in each note, that way a search will include the sentiments in the results.

My notebooks start in this topic, with post # 81....

The way that I did mine was create a notebook for each type of supply....stamps, punches, copics, embossing folders, big shot dies, etc....and then created a note for each...for example, every stamp set us a separate note, but they are in my stamp notebook. Each note has a picture if the stamp set, and I have included the item number, cost and quantity in the set (for my Stampib'UP sets) along with any sentiments typed at the end. I have separated my current stamp sets from my retired....but only because I'm a SU demo.

Hope this helps you....

I was going to upload my notes files, but they are huge. Suggestions?

I have:
Embossing Folders - 95
Memory Box - 141
Spellbinders - 710

They all have images. Sometimes I list them by what is logical to me, not necessarily the exact title. For instance, "A2 Card Creator" is going to be titled, "Card Creator, A2". None of the "gold" items are listed with "gold" as the first word. You'll find "Adorning Labels 25, Gold" and not "Gold Adorning Labels 25".

I split my large notebooks into a couple of different uploads and then labeled them like Spellbinders 1 of 3, etc. then once anyone uploads them, they can combine them

Okay guys! I have been very naughty and have not been on here in quite a while.

I am putting tons of stuff into Evernote! Even Crochet patterns.

I have made a few crocheted flower bookmarks to go with some little comp books. Here is a link to some pics. Gypsy Lane Crafts: Bookmarks

I use DMC Embroidery Floss. Instead of doing each individual 100+ color with a photo, I have done a list of the colors with checkmarks of the ones I have, and have also included the DMC Color Chart as a separate note in the notebook. I also have a list of the Pearl Cotton #5

I have found it useful to coordinate the thread color with my paper.

I couldn't get it to attach. It said "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing."

Any ideas?

Default Stickles Evernote file

I am going to try to attach another file and see if that will work.

I did this quite a few months ago, so I am not sure how current it is.

Oh Wow! You have 710 Spellbinder dies? You don't live anywhere near Houston do you? I have 111 Spellbinders, 106 various other dies and 177 embossing folders. I have everything in Evernote. All my SU stuff plus all other dies and embossing folders, cling stamps, clear stamps, wood stamps and am now slowly working on my digital stamps. I also have a notebook of all the cards and tutorials I find on the internet. Every time I find a card I like I add it. I have 1566 notes of SU cards and 241 other cards to use as inspiration. Evernote is better than a filing cabinet.

BTW, you list your stuff very similar to mine. I want them grouped by category so when I am looking for a circle die I have them all together in Evernote so I can decide which one I might want to use.

Thanks for the file. For some reason the only cart that is showing up is Robot Party. Could I be doing something wrong?

Oh my heavens, no! I want to see what spellbinders are available, not just what I have. I tag the ones I have with "1-Owned" - I always want OWNED to be the first tag in the list of tags for any note, so the "1" accomplishes that.

If anyone imports mine, they can just delete the 1-Owned tag to remove that tag from the notes, so they can mark their own. Alternatively, they can move the ones they don't own to an "unowned" notebook.

I'm working on a copic list of all colors. I searched everywhere on the net for one (surely someone ELSE has made an evernote list of copics with color samples) but I couldn't find anything.

Oh, and I lived in Houston in the early 1990's, now I'm in California.

I had to split my dies by company because the combined file was too large. Try splitting the file into smaller sections to upload.

I'll give that a try. The 2 notes are just small lists, but the one note is a multiple page pdf which is probably really big.

THANKS!

There are 60 total files of spellbinders; first 20 are above. I will upload the rest of them tomorrow evening. Each file has 10-15 notes in it; any more than that and it was too big to upload.

I love evernote and use it for all sorts of things - tv series, so I can know which episode I'm on, shopping lists - good thing to have on you at all times, personal info like current meds and dosages. I just never thought of using it for this!
So ... how does someone store their spellbinders? By style? Shape? Year release? I'm thinking: Rounds, Squares, Ovals, Rectangles, Labels (that don't fit the above), Shapes, Edges. What do YOU have? TIA! There's also a variety of Heartfelt Creation spellbinder dies, etc etc, etc.
** my brain is on the verge of exploding **

You could put all of your dies into one notebook called DIES, then tag each individual note with SPELLBINDERS, SQUARES AND RECTANGLES, etc. If you import a couple of my files above, you'll see what I mean.

You can also separate your notebooks into separate books for each manufacturer, if you want. But with the tagging feature, it's not essential to do that.

I live in Sugar Land. Let's compare collections! *laugh*
