Hi all! I was gone for a bit dealing with life stuff. I'm still interested in this thread because I'm at the beginning of my crafting journey and so far, have not tracked anything involving this hobby.

Sounds like Airtable might fit the bill, but for some reason, I thought it was MAC only? If I am wrong, please let me know!

I should add I don't want to do this stuff on my phone. Only on my PC.

Same here. It's web-based so how you access it doesn't matter.

Thumbs up Thanks for the video tutorial for Airtable!

The video I posted below on how I set it up shows you the desktop interface, but it's pretty identical on the phone. Sometimes I'll add the names of stamp sets while I'm watching TV and add details later on my computer.

Lydia, thank you so much for creating and sharing that video. I finally got around to registering for Airtable (my supplies are starting to come in and I wanted to get Airtable set up before I have a huge amount of things to enter!)

I watched your video once all the way through, and then in bits while I was setting up my own Workspace.

Though I am not new to Database building, your video helped me get set up in under an hour (still gotta create a bunch more tabs, but I'm duplicating mostly).

I love Evernote I have it on a Windows computer on my iPad and on my iPhone, and it syncs to all three I do pay the middle package (plus, not sure if that Plan is still available )

But I think you can have it for free if you just want it on one or two unit, such as your computer and tablet or phone .Basic plan has limited load size per month

I notice for entering information it works a little bit differently on all formats, which I like having the options.

at one time I think if you sign up through someone you both got a premium package for the month
FWIW, you CAN just go to the evernote's website and log in there to use it as one of the platforms. I did that for awhile while I used the no-cost version. Then I upgraded and can access it on my Win 10 computer, Droid phone and droid tablet.

Just log into your account on their website, at the top right of their screen on https://evernote.com/

I'm late to the party but just saw your video, Lydia, as I was looking for ways to organize my inventory. Thank you so much for sharing the system you use!

Default Onenote

I use Onenote, a free Microsoft program. All you have to do is have an account and password. I use it for my whole life! Searching is easy. All you have to do is put in a word or phrase associated with the item or task you are looking for and you have it. It is constantly syncing with the cloud so you can't loose it. You can input photos easily, even add an audio note to a section. Within the program are notebooks which you name and add sub categories. Very, very user friendly. Honestly, i have my whole life on it. Never loose a tool or tutorial you have copied into it, even if you don't remember where you filed it. Just search a word you know is in the title or body of instructions. I constantly forget moving craft and household items. This makes that impossible now. I only need search and it presents numerous suggestions. I pick one that looks good and usually have it on the first try. Works on a smart phone and desktop. Setting up your craft stash may seem daunting, just do 15min. a day. You will be rewarded by the best craft tool ever.

I do the paid version because I have people that help me enter things, but you don't need that. I'm not certain at this point what the differences are, but I'm paying for additional users.
I think the main difference (that affects me at least) between free & paid is basically storage space. In the free version, you are limited to attachment file size & number of records in a database. Not sure if there are other limitations. I don't do huge attachments, and to get around the number of records limit, I just did 2 databases. (Even the free plan allows unlimited number of databases.) I have one for digital stamps/images, & another for physical stamps, dies, & stencils (1 table in that database for each of those). Works great, since I don't really have to sync anything between digital & physical products. The only problem I ran into is that it stopped working on my tablet. But, it still works on my laptop/desktop computers & my phone, so it's all good! I love the ability to categorize, filter, group, etc. It's kinda like Access without the learning curve!

Will OneNote search within an image, like if you took pics of recipes would it be able to find the one ingredient?

Default One Note Search

No, it searches the actual words typed into it. But you could add a photo to it, then add a few words or phrases which describe the photo. Hope this helps.♡
