Which brand are you using to adhere to your stamp positioner for red rubber stamps that have no cushion. I read you attach ?TNP one one side of cling. Do I have this right? Does it work?
If I understand what you're doing, you don't need cling at all. Tack N Peel goes directly on a block or on the door of a stamp positioner. It holds straight red rubber without anything additional.
Sue? (gregzgurl) Do you have anything to add? I know you use all "nekkid" red rubber.
Hi Fiona
Thanks for your reply. I thought the cling was used so you didnt have to permanently adhere the TNP to the live of your positioner? You apply the TNP to the cling?
That's correct - you put the cling vinyl on the inside of the "lid" of the MISTI, then put the TNP on the cling vinyl, and then the bare rubber will stick to the TNP while you stamp. If/when you use photopolymer stamps, you can remove the TNP and cling and use the stamps directly on the MISTI. I tried it but wasn't loving it (although there are many who think it's the best thing ever), so I went back to putting 2-way glue on the backs of my rubber stamps. I was using Sailor until they discontinued their wide chisel-tip marker, then used AdTech tape runner until they changed the formula, and now I'm using Alene's Tack It Over and Over. Not my fave, but it works, so I'm going with it...
Diane, I was really hoping that TH/Tonic would market a 'replacement' lid, so I could put TnP on one! No luck yet, so I'm trying out the cling vinyl way. When I finally get round to putting it together, lol.
I bet a nice letter to the company or Tim might encourage them to do it. I doubt they realize their is an unmounting frenzy out there. It's not like they have to manufacture something. I am not sure how the precision would be aLtered though. that might be a limiting factor
If you decide to go this route, I would just make a set similar to your blocks and not the whole size of your positioner cover. WHen you take the protector off the TNP its so sticky that its just a bit unweildly to deal with in a very large size . Just my 2 cents. I use this only with my bare red rubber to make sure I get a good image with some narrow sentiment stamps to offset rolling side to side
ppofct, I was just thinking this the other night! Realised I didn't need to cover the whole of the lid, just make one as big as my largest bare stamp! Of course, I only thought of this AFTER I'd bought enough TnP to cover the whole thing, rofl!
What am I missing? When I use bare rubber stamps, not that I have that many, I put a piece of double-sided poster tape on them, or more piece than one if large. It's easy to remove. Is the vinyl to keep from going through a lot of tape for those that have lots of rubber stamps?
Yes, bjeans, it just means you don't have to use tape, or get it off the stamp platform after. The vinyl will cling to the platform lid, with the tack n Peel attached.
