I'm in the middle of a massive craft room organizational binge, and I need some ideas for organizing my sizeable collection of big flowers. These are flowers that were originally silks, but I took them apart to use on cards and layouts.
Right now, I have them sorted by color in 4x6" baggies and stored on a binder ring, but I don't know if that's really the best route for me personally. I can't stand to see this big, floppy mess sitting anywhere, and that's exactly what that binder ring full of flowers looks like.
I just throw mine in a plastic shoebox! It's not pretty, but it works. They might be attractive lined up in clear jars, but that would take up more space..
I have a small three-drawer unit that I got at Target or something for less than $10. The drawers are clear fronted and I made dividers out of cardboard and then sorted by color inside of mine. I use mine for Primas which are much smaller, but I'm thinking this might work for you?
I don't have a huge flower collection, but I do use a few small canning jars on a shelf, while others are in those round metal storage tins with a clear lid and magnet back. Those are on a vertical metal surface (fridge) near my stampin' table. ;)
Why not SU clamshells? I use them for EVERYTHING somewhat craft related. They stack, they come in different sizes, clear, and they won't squish your flowers (unless you pack them right full). They can take up a bit more room, but worth it for organizational purposes.
I'm switching a lot of my embellishments into Snap n Store containers. They're plastic, stackable and the lids are very secure. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes and are relatively inexpensive (at least at Walmart they are). I used to keep my flowers in glass bottles - but after knocking over and breaking them, I getting rid of the glass.
I found some adorable glass jars at The Dollar Tree. They're a rounded square, if that makes any sense, about 6" tall and 6" diameter. Plus each of the sides has a 2 X 2 1/2" area for a label or for attaching one of your flowers. I have all my flowers stored in these, plus I bought more yesterday to make journaling jars for Christmas gifts. Nicole Heady has an adorable one on her blog for teachers, and I'm making one of those. But I'm also doing journal jars for each of my sisters, with the theme being "For My Children's Children."
Anyway, I have my flower jars stored on a shelf within easy access, and I love looking at them for inspiration.

Don't know how much room you have, but how about using the clear cupcake boxes you get when you buy cupcakes at the bakery--you know, they have 12 holes/compartments????
