This is my first time posting so I am hoping someone can help. I have been looking into buying 12 x 12 folders for paper storage and was wondering what brand you all recommend? I'm also trying to locate a hanging file cart that can accomodate 12 x 12 folders. Any help is appreciated.
Cropper Hopper makes a Heavy Duty cart - it is filing cart for 12x12 folders and paper. I love mine it is on rollers, but I never move mine!
Check into Cropper Hopper for 12x12 paper storage- there is several options, personally I love love my heavy duty cart and thinking about a second one.
Mine has 27 folders and about 1000+ sheets of paper in it.
I have a drawer as part of a cube system that I don't think anyone makes anymore...those folders are a bear to find! I have the hanging 12 x 12 and the 12 x 12 folders. I think they are made by Making Memories but I have not seen those in a long time. I used to get them at Joann's.
Joann's has a rolling cart on sale (I bought one last year) with individual 12x12 plastic storage 'boxes' that you can take out and place on your table top or take somewhere, besides using it as storage. The ads say 'up to $34.99' so it's a bargain! I stack my 12x12 papers upright on a shelf inside some opaque folders that have 2 different snaptop options. I got them with a Michael's coupon...regularly about $12 for a dozen. Hope this helps.
Happy Thanksgiving.. I'm thankful for everyone at SCS! (Linda, I sent you a PM. Cried over your blog!)
I just bought the Cropper Hopper heavy duty rolling cart and 24 hanging folders that are 13" x 14". I'm guessing that I have at least 700 sheets of paper in there and there is plenty of room for more folders. And it rolls easily. This is going to be SO much better than my old shelf system.
I was lucky to get 2 rolling file carts and forty folders off Craigslist for $25. The folders are Retrospect brand and hold the labels just like letter/legal folders. They're sturdy and should hold up well. I don't know if this link will work, but Amazon sells them, and you can get the shipping for free.
If you google "12 x 12 hanging file folders" you will find a multitude of options. Here is one: http://www.amazon.com/Smead-Retrospe.../dp/B000S14FTI
Look down the page a bit to more options that you can click on.
Here on SCS a couple of years ago, someone posted that since the 12 x 12 folders were so pricey, they made folders from legal hanging folders by cutting them and re-taping to make them deeper. I can't find it on here, but there are a couple of listings on scrapbook.com: http://www.scrapbook.com/tips/doc/4045/216.html http://www.scrapbook.com/tips/doc/23295/214
I current use usps boxes. They come in an assortment of sizes. You can order online and have delivered to your home. I cover mine with patterned paper. Some suggest going by the PO and picking up a couple. PO assumes you are using them to mail items, thus paying postage. I do not suggest this. Basically, its stealing. The cost is minimal considering what you will pay for Cropper Hopper and with the boxes you can decorate to match your decor.
Cut with your craft knife or husband's work blade to shape like a Cropper Hopper.

karen: can you post a picture? I can't understand what you are doing. Is the box for hanging folders or just to hold paper? Very interesting...
I have made my own hanging files with the legal folders but can't find anything to put them in!
