Any ideas on what to do with the stamp overlays after replacing the clear stamp packaging? Has anyone laminated that inside with the cardstock, or would that defeat the purpose?
The only thing I've seen suggested for those is to use them for shaker cards. Keeping the clear ones for card windows. Keeping the clear envies for when I need to share a few scrappy things with friends. But other than that, couldn't think of uses for the overlays.
I am thinking of putting the overlay inside with a piece of card stock before laminating when I remount my clear stamps (if it works right). I could put the stamps on the other side, so I'd have a good view of what is in the folder. I did stamp all of my clear stamps with StazOn black ink, and I noticed a few sets I had didn't seem to dry and coat the stamp well, and the ink rubbed off easily. I think they are made of a different type of plastic. Which was no biggie, because the ink came off easily with a baby wipe. Thinking the others are probably fine. But it would give me another option for viewing my stamp images.
Keeping the clear sides for shaker cards, window cards, openings, etc...
What do you think?
I keep several handy to use on top of my cs in my Misti to check positioning before actually stamping, I used one yesterday as palette for distress ink watercoloring, they're great for shaker cards, and for cutting into strips for the pop up box cards, and extra positioning sheets to use with my stamp-a-ma-jig ( I haven't unmounted my rubber stamps yet )

Reason: Gee, I had to correct iPad's auto correct. Imagine that!
I put the index sheets with the images into my index binder for reference, as I break all of my sets up and organize the individual stamps by theme. The clear part (no images) gets tossed. It seems like I read somewhere that you could use it like Shrinky Dink plastic, but I may be mis-remembering and I've never tried it...
I laminate the overlay. I wanted a system where I could see the stamp image and easily tell if a stamp was missing. I laminate a piece of card stock too and this goes behind my stamp set to make it easier to see and also to sandwich the stamps between laminate.
That is what I ended up doing. I put the overlay and the white cardstock in the pouch to laminate. Then I ran some empty laminate sheets through to use as backing on my little stamps, as they were sticking to the baseball page protectors when I would go to pull them out. I think I am going to be much happier with this system of storing them. I had a few tear up when I tried to remove them from the original sheet they were stored on. Thankfully, majority of them came off intact, but I really struggled to pull some of them off, as they were sticking so badly. Just able to do a little at a time, so it will take me a while to get them done. I like seeing them with the white cardstock behind them, as it looks more like they do stamped, and you get a better idea of how they'll actually look on paper.
I saw a shaped card, a cut out wreath of individual diecut flowers with the clear sheet in between the front wreath and the back wreath, with a sentiment stamped in white Stazon ink. It was very nice and it's in my pile of cards to CASE

I'm sorry, but what is a stamp overlay? I have no idea what you are talking about and I am NOT new at this... ugh

Here are some after I ran them through a laminator in the laminating pouches. This is how I did my small stamps that I store in baseball card protective pages. I just put the overlay over a piece of white cardstock, and adhered it with double-stick tape.
After laminating, I cut them out. Then I stuck the stamps onto the back of them. I also ran some sheets of lamninating pouches through without anything in them, so I could cut out a piece to go behind the stamps, so they wouldn't stick to the baseball card pockets. Some of the ones pictured are stamps I had stored in cd cases. Redid those also!

I actually use them in my stamp storage. Short version: I cut them apart and arrange by theme. They are sandwiched between laminate. My clear stamps stick to the back of the laminate and you can see the images on the front. Easy to replace exactly where they go because the whole card is clear and you can see the image from the back side.
