SU Cases Alternative
I really like the SU cases, but find them too expensive for my budget. Is there another option of the same style? Thanks,

I've seen some posts mentioning Disc Cases | TapeOnline.com as long as you don't mind the jewel cases vs the softer SU cases.
I ordered 10 cases from them to try storing my stamps with matching dies as they sell magnetic sheets that fit perfectly. They came quickly and completely encased in bubble wrap. None were cracked. I think sometimes the SU cases flex too much or my vent cover magnets aren't strong enough to hold my framelits with the matching set.
I also was going to try to make one of those DIY hinged stamping tools mentioned in this thread:

I really like SU soft cases. All I am finding on the internet is hard cases. I bought a bunch of them from tape on line with magnetic sheets to store my dies in. I found a few in my new purchase with broken tabs. Then while I was putting the sheets and dies in the cases, a few more tabs on the cases broke.
I know these cases are cheap, but I really would like all of the cases to close properly.
Does anyone know where I can get the soft cases from, or is this an SU specialty item?

Drummergirlred and Sir56...would these be the same size as those purchased through SU? It's hard to see on the website but to me they look the same. I've invested quite a bit in the SU cases and still need a lot more but I don't want to get something that would be a different size, I'd like them to match exactly (my OCD kicking in!)

The cases are exactly the same size. There really are only two differences. The Stampin Up cases are slightly rounded on the corners the other cases are a bit more square (the difference is slight). The other difference is these cases have two tabs on the inside, that Stampin Up cases don't have, but I love the tabs, because I cut my magnetic sheets to the case size for dies and the tabs hold them in place. I know how you feel, though, I like things to match also and I was a little bit afraid to order these, but now I am very glad I did. I hope you can see the differences in my pictures.

Thank you for asking this question and to Leslie for your suggestion. I really like these DVD cases that SU uses and may use this system for all my polymer and unmounted rubber stamps that I currently have in jewel CD cases. I will not use jewel cases anymore because they're a pain in the *** with easily cracking/breaking.
JM's method using the pockets, and then I'd have to get mounting boards, plastic sheets etc...is just too much work.

Do you all know about these: Frost King E/O Magnetic Vent Covers-MC815 - The Home Depot This is a cheaper alternative to buying magnetic sheets. When cut to the sizes of the cases, you can get 9 from one pack, so that is about 50 cents each. They don't have adhesive on the backs, but if you use the cases above, the tabs will hold them in place.

These are what I use. I purchase them by the case and last me a year or more! Very cost effective for me. If a stamp set comes with coordinating dies, I have plenty of room in there to store the die as well. Helps keep them all together.

I am going to try these; not available at menards. I love that you can pay and pre-order and not have to search in store to find product; it waits at the customer service to be picked up

I received my order last week and I am loving them. To Happy Girl....I wouldn't say they are twice the size of the CD cases....maybe about 1/3 more storage. They seem to be slightly deeper than the ones Stampin' Up sells, too. Also, so far they appear to be sturdier than SU's and close easier. Many of my SU cases have cracked or broken on the spine. Time will tell if the new ones do as well; but so far I am giving the new ones a thumbs up.

Note the free shipping when you order a minimum of $25. I positively HATE the shipping charges from SU

I've already filled up my order of 100 cases and I need more.
Would anyone be interested in splitting an order 1/2 or 1/4? I would reimburse postage to mail them to me.
