ruler storage

how can i store my rulers? I have regular rulers, some 24" long, some corner rulers & im not sure how to store the wonky lot. thanks!

I sewed a rollup case, similar to those sold for knitting needles. My large corner ruler lives beside my work desk, flat against the side and the other end against the wall. Easy to grab!

I also have several different sizes and I hang them on a pegboard.

how do you hang them? they dont all have holes

My regular and T-rulers are just in a pen cup on my desk.
My long is sitting on top of a cabinet next to me just waiting to get knocked off. I am thinking I will move it to my tool box. I never use that for crafts. Unless I am making posters.

I have a framed pegboard right above my working space...My rulers 18" and under hang on the pegboard. I have one steel ruler longer than that and its home is lying flat on the frame around the pegboard...My four foot yard stick --wooden stands in the corner as it isn't often needed but at least I know where it is.

The two I use mostly hang (they have wholes) on "S" hooks from my light, right at my side, at the ready for measuring. My metal "L" shaped square I use for right angle cuts sits hanging off the side of my desk against the light base. My other assorted rulers stand upright in a cardboard box on the other area of my "L" shaped workspace.
The two I use mostly are my basic 12"/30cm metal and my flexible plastic centering ruler by EK Success (a must have for me).

I have a hanging pocket on the closet doorknob, which is immediately to the left of my desk. It has one large pocket (like 12 inches wide and maybe 9 inches deep) and four smaller pockets across the bottom, with several hooks along the bottom. I keep full sheets of 8 1/2 X 11 copier paper (used, scrap paper) in the big pocket. along with my 18 inch wooden ruler and my 15 inch clear plastic centering ruler, right where I can reach them. Two of the smaller pockets hold 2 stamp cleaner pads, and the other two hold various scissors. Hooks underneath also hold various scissors. I think I probably got it at a garage sale, years ago.

For T- and L-squared rulers, I put the hooks a certain length apart so I can hang by the "T" part between two hooks or hang one arm of the "L" part across two hooks. Most my rulers are metal with holes, but for the stray couple with no holes I put in a drawer. You could probably lay them across two or three hooks. Never thought to do that lol.

I noticed that all my rulers (7 of them) had holes, so I hung them from command hooks mounted on one side of the space where my legs go under my desk. They’re super quick and easy to grab, and since you can’t really see them when you come in the room, it helps cut down on visual clutter.

All over the place - but easy to find.
1- 12 inch rulers stand on end in one compartment on my desktop lazy susan pen/pencil storage. I think the compartment has three for four on end back to back (including edging ruler and metal edge ruler).
2- L-shaped ruler and one of those curvy artist rulers are in a desk drawer with stamp platforms and envelope making supplies.
3- Tape measure in tool drawer.
4- Triangle ruler on paper trimmer (for perfectly squared corners).
5- Yardstick in closet (rarely needed).

All of my 6"-18" rulers are in a large-ish mug on top of a shelving unit that's the same height as my table and right next to it. I have a bone folder and a smaller Teflon mat (rolled up) in there, as well. My 24" quilting ruler and yardstick are in the closet with other sewing/quilting supplies. My French curves are tucked into the front of the bin that has my patterns in it, my triangular ones are in a pencil box with other templates and tools. I need to get a T-square (old one broke), and my square is in the garage because my husband stole it...

I use this by Totally Tiffany. It's called the Brandy Buddy Bag. It's only $7.99 on her website, and you might be able to find it for less somewhere else. My T- square ruler sticks out of the top, but it works well for me. I have it sitting on my desk, and all my rulers under 18 inches fit.
