Default Must Have Ikea Organization?

I am planning a trip tomorrow, and have a couple of ideas. . . I would like more!

I am planning on towel racks for punches and a tension curtain rod for clip it up, but what else should I check out while there???

Any and all possibilities will be considered LOL!

Actual names would also be helpful if you have them, so I can look it up online before I go. . . .

Thanks in advance!

I just purchased a Besta bookshelf. $90 regular priced. I found in "as is" for set up for $70, I think.

I also found doors in the "as is" for $15 - reg. $20-60.

There are drawers you can buy and easily install called Inreda Tray that fit in. I was lucky enough to find these in red on clearance for $2.50 each. I bought 5. They have the color "smoked" now, it is a grey/brown and is regular priced $10 each. I have placed my ink pads in 3 of them, by colors, I can stack 2 high if needed, but can see all of them. The 4th I have my punches in. The 5th tray I am currently storing some papers, started cards for a craft fair I am participating in.

I also bought the Inreda boxes (also on clearance in red for $2.50 each. It is a set of 4 "boxes" basically 3 drawer type boxes that have a rail to slide in and out and a 4th that is more like a tray. I have actually placed 8 of these on the right outside of the bookshelf creating more space. Since these slide in and out on a rail I now have drawers on the outside giving me more space. $20 reg. price

The boxes and trays have a rail that install with 2 screws in predrilled holes inside the bookshelf. The boxes I placed outside, I did have to drill each hole a little, but I did it, not my DH, it was that easy!

Increda boxes: 101.339.57
Increda tray: 001.39.53

Good luck!

I'm using the Bygel rods and I think a lot of others do to for punches. They are in the kitchen section and have a couple different kinds of baskets that can hang from them.
Have fun shopping.

Bedsides the bygel rails and baskets, I also use the kassst boxes for storage. The cd boxes are perfect for stroing cards and the shorter paper boxes work great as well. I'm going back when we're down there at Christmas time.

As far as larger IKEA pieces, I have two:

BJURSTA table
- I have the pull-out leaf table that is about 36" square with the leaves in, and nearly 6 feet long with the leaves extended. I love it as a stamping table.

MARKOR buffet - it's big and heavy and loaded with storage. I keep alterables, extra cardstock, and tons of other stuff in it. It's also the perfect height for our parakeets' cage, so they sing to me while i stamp. This is the most involved assembly I've ever done of an IKEA piece - the instructions were over 50 steps. Great piece of furniture. I can't find it on their web site, so it might have been discontinued.

I'd love to give you names but there names are SO funky I cant remember them all (sorry!)

They have really cute spice jars to store buttons, brads, eyelets, etc in

The towel bar I bought had baskets you can hang, great for scissors, pens, etc right next to your counter.

Expedit. One of my favorite items they've ever made!

Jealous!

Your room is beautiful with the black and white contrast. Love the desk (and handy son-in-laws or in my case brother-in-laws are wonderful, aren't they?)

Next time we get to go to Ikea, I'm getting that bookcase as well!!!!! Can't wait....I love Ikea but it's 3 hours away and always sooo crowded...and then there is the cramped trip back home with a car full of boxes, hehe.

Can I ask where your desk is from in your blog? I love it!

Default Project Desk

My son-in-law built it! He's very talented!! Love that kid!
There are plans on Ana White for the desk.... ::
The very best time to be at Ikea is when the doors open and they have pretty good breakfast for seriously....next to nothing, which might just inspire DH to go with you. LOL

Thanks for the info! DH actually LIKES going to Ikea so no worries there! No way we'd get there when it opens though with the 3 hour drive Actually the one we go to now isn't so crowded as the one I used to go to. And, he doesn't usually eat breakfast...he's all about the lunch...and one of our very fave places happens to be across the street...how convenient

I just love the Bygel rails...I have 24 of them...my hubby mounts them 7 or 8 to a piece of plywood he has already painted and puts them up on the wall with a lot less screws that way. I have three of these already and need another one. I have pictures in my gallery and only two of them are in the pictures...I put the little baskets on the bottom rail too for more goodies.
blessings.

I LOVE the room- it's so stunning!!!!

We were going to go this weekend to IKEA, but we are just too busy- we are going to a wine festival tonight, then to Cesar Mallan on Saturday.

I can't wait to organize my room- it's such a pain in the butt to have everything everywhere- because when I'm in the craftroom, it's not just me: it's me, the dog [who's a German Shepherd/Husky- so he's big] and usually 3 out of the 4 cats are in here crawling on everything.

I love Ikea...my island, bookcases, shelving lights, baskets, clear bins, jars and ribbon storage are all from Ikea...there are so many options depending on your style!!

Search 'Ikea' in the gallery and you will come up with a ton of storage solutions!

I love, love the Bygel rails for my punches! I agree also look at the Expedit shelves they do hold 12x12 paper. Also, if your stamps are unmounted in CD cases they have tons of CD racks & such.

There is also another drawer thing that has long narrow drawers. It is white but can't remember the name. I want to say it is at least 12x18 for each drawer..really nice.

Also, if you need a new chair or storage jars lots of options there, too!

I also have these plastic containers that have dividers in them that I store all of my bling in. I prefer the white, but I have seen blue as well. A lot of times they are in the kids bedding area..around $5 each I think.

I have 9 Alex draw units in my craft room. They are stacked 3 high. Very deep drawers and I have separated my SU stamp sets into themes (Gasp) and chucked the plastic boxes. It makes it so much easier for me to make BDay cards, Baby, party etc. I used a label maker to label each drawer when the 'theme' changes. I think I have 9 drawers for flowers. It's amazing what space this has saved and looks great in the small space that I have. Makes clean up a breeze as well.
I also have found that all of my MS punches fit as well as my overflow of SU punches that won't fit on my rails on the wall. I only want those that I use all the time to fill the wall.
I would recommend these drawers to anyone wanting to organize.

Thanks for the specifics on what you store where -- I find that very helpful and I'm finally going to get to redo my craft/guest room in the new year so these insights are VERY helpful! I really, really want to get it right!
