Default How do you organize your 12x12 paper?

How do you all organize your 12 x 12 patterned paper? I have a 4' wide by 16" deep lateral filing drawer full of 12 x 12 patterned paper.

I recently found Hefty Jumbo zip locks that are 14" x 14". I took my patterned paper and broke them down into dominant color, i.e. red, blue, green, brown, etc... Of course I also have one for each season, i.e. Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter and one for Easter and one for Halloween.

I do NOT have my Stampin' Up DSP broken down only because they are in their own ziplock because I have the colors that make up that paper written on the plastic.

How do you organize your paper?

(PS) Today was the first day I actually "used" the new organization and I loved it. I wanted something yellow, so I just pulled out my yellow back and voila ... done!!!

I have mine in plastic "scrapboxes" that stand in a white plastic 'tower' of 6 boxes. Within those boxes I have blues, neutrals, Basic Grey, etc. ... however, this is not fine-tuned enough for true efficiency IMO. Because I do have lots of Christmas papers, those are in a separate tote with a handle. It's likely that since I'm not really a "scrapper", I've never really taken the time & trouble to get 12x12's completely managed. I'll be eager to see what others are doing. ;)

My paper is stored upright in lightly-used postal boxes that I covered with contact paper. I am a scrapbooker and card maker, so I have my paper sorted as follows:
  • Coordinated paper packs: CTMH, Basic Grey, Kits, etc are all kept in their original packages until mostly used up. Then, I take the remnants and sort them into the system below.
  • 8.5x11 solid cardstock: individual sheets sorted by color (white, pink, red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, black)
  • 12x12 solid cardstock: individual sheets sorted by color
  • Printed paper or printed cardstock: individual sheets sorted by dominate color.
  • Scraps: Solids & prints are stored together. I have two 3"x13" zip-style bags for each color. One is for pieces that are at least 2"x12" long (good for scrapbooking). The other is for all scraps at least 2"x3" but shorter than 12" (great for punches, etc).

I have my paper stored in 12x12 plastic storage (paper) bins. For the most part, I can fit 2 vendors per box, then I have another box for basic solid colors (black, white, cream, pink, blue, etc...). Additionally, I have another box for miscellaneous 12x12 pattern papers and chipboard. Due to the fact that I have approximately 14 of these storage bins, I keep them labeled so it's easier to find what I'm looking for. I'm lucky to have a walk-in closet for my craft storage because a system like this would be a lot to take on if you don't have the space for it.

I get the 12 by 12 page protectors for scrapbook pages, trim off the holes on one side and keep collections in those. I've started sorting by color groups and seasonal/holidays. I keep Basic Grey, Bo Bunny, etc collections each their own protector. Everything fits up on the shelf next to my 8 1/2 by 11 card stock and in one Sterlite drawer.

I don't have a lot of paper so it's under control. I can't get most of my favorite brands locally but I DO have a local source for Graphic 45! DCWV papers are available, but the stock in the stores is usually old and I only like about 15% of the patterns in their packs anyway. So I avoid it.
