There have been numerous post here at SCS about how people are storing their copic markers. Everyone has their preference and I have FINALLY found my solution. Just thought I'd share it with others since it was so cheap.
My target had some pencil cubes (Room Essentials brand) in the office supply section that are selling for $3 for a set of two. Each cube measures approx. 5" and comes with clips that allow you to stack you cubes.
I have a complete set of Sketch Markers and the entire set fits in 6 cubes - so the entire cost for my cubes was only $18. (Each cube also stores 40 of the ink refills!!) The cubes come in multiple colors - I chose the black, but was seriously tempted by the pretty turquoise ones. ;)
I wanted to include a link to the Target website, but they don't seem to have the cubes available on line. I am therefore going to try to attach a picture of my cubes but I'm not sure I know how to do that.
So... if you are still searching for a copic storage option... you might want to check out Target.
PS By the way.. the other added bonus to this product, is that the cubes fold down flat so you can easily store them when they are not in use!!
FYI, in my Target, those were on an endcap, and they were on the end of the aisle closest to the greeting cards, and facing in "inside" of the store (as opposed to being on the end facing the registers). They also had CD-style storage boxes (also folded up as shown).
I am mostly a lurker here, gleaning all sorts of amazing organizing ideas from you guys. Thank you so much grandepuce, for posting about the storage cubes. I have been looking for the Rubbermaid X-Cubes without success. I went to my local Target this morning and picked up some of their cubes. My store had lime green, fuschia pink, black and teal blue. I can't wait to get them loaded!
Thanks again for sharing this bit of info!
NOTE: There is only one divider per package. I was a bit disappointed to discover that. :( Otherwise, they are very nice.

Jennyleigh Do you mean only 1 triangle part per package? So it would take 4 packages to make a cube with 4 triangle compartments ?
Here's another picture that shows how the cubes come packaged on the shelves at Target - hopefully this will help people better find them.
You are a peach! What a great idea for copic storage and the price is right. I see a Target run in the VERY near future. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
I bought four sets of these today. I really only needed one for my copics, but thought I would get extras just in case. Well, they are all 4 full! Only one cube has copics in it, but I was able to fit 3 1/2 years of PTI stamps in the other 7 cubes!! I really like the way they look and fit my space much better that what I had my stamp cases in before. I guess I need to get a few more, so I'll have room for my next PTI order!

I was disappointed to see that, too. However, it's easy enough to use one of the dividers as a template to cut a set for the other cube out of chipboard or bookboard.
(Yes, I had to run to Target this morning, too, lol!)
I bought one set (2 cubes) in turquoise - it's the accent color in my craft room! I only have a few Copics but the Sakura pens (Stardust, Glaze, Souffle) fit nicely.
I always store all of my markers sideways. I have heard you don't have to with Copics, but it can't hurt them.
I tried one of these units from Target about a month ago. I didn't post on SCS because I found it to be so wobbly and unstable and the pins to hold it in place kept falling out. I returned it. Their other boxes are great for stamp storage in CD jewel cases though, picked up a bunch of them. I liked their magazine folders too and their boxes for hanging file folders, I just don't have a place for them. I wish they had white and more primary colors (red, yellow, etc.) but who knows, maybe they will offer them in the future.
Got 2 of the cubes. Lime green and shocking Blue. My Target had all 4 colors. I found it tight when you put both dividers in one cube. I also thought they were plastic instead of paper covered cardstock. Still think they are cool and handy for the price.
I found these at Target yesterday and I put my Copic refills in them. I hope I can store my refills sideways. Does anyone know?
I haven't had any problem storing my copic refills on their side. I've seen them stored on their side in stamping stores that sell them in my area and I've never seen any evidence of leaking.
I love the fact that 40 refills fit just perfectly in each box - It's just the right size and is a perfect use for the box that doesn't come with a divider.
I also went to Target today and picked up a few packakges of them too! Haven't had a chance to put them together yet but also disappointed that they only come with one divider:( oh well, what do you expect for 3 bucks!! Think it should work though!

Thanks for sharing your find!
Here's a suggestion......take some empty toilet tissue rolls and paint them the same color as the cube (the ones I bought are black) and place them in the extra cube that does not have a divider. The toilet tissue rolls then become your divider for the other cube! Hmmmm...just checked and my toilet tissue rolls are about 3/4 of an inch too short! Well, you could cut empty paper towel rolls to get the correct size! Just a thought!!!
Saw these on Barbara Anders blog post about her workspace today. Thought they looked so great and affordable that I decided to search online for the best place to buy them. I found them at costco.com for $9.59 each...these ones are plastic and look sturdy. They're stackable and come with clips to hold more than one unit together. Deflect-o also makes units like this but, with drawers that can also stack with these...so that's an added bonus!

Oh, and here is the link for all of the Deflect-o products that costco.com carries...like I said, some of them coordinate with the x-divider cube so they can stack together...
