Help Needed
Hi Friends,
I spent a few moments (long moments) cleaning my stamping studio. I am overrun with Designer Paper. It is beautiful but I need to use it, please post a link to your favorite card that uses DP. I will be forever grateful. I need to make some cards quick. I would love to use this beautiful paper before my new catty order gets here! Thanks for comming to my rescue. |
These cards used non-SU patetrned paper but the idea is adaptable. I really had fun making them and hope they inpsire you to use your pretty papers!

I have some of that same paper too! I did use it in a similar way to make some Christmas cards a couple of years ago.
|
I hoarded it for a long time (bought it on clearance for either 10 or 25 cents a sheet several years ago). While I had fun using it I will admit that I was thrilled when I recently found an uncut sheet. It is one of my most favorite papers ever (and I've always loved paper ... used to try to convince my mom I needed an extra notebook just so I'd have one that was "new")
Glad I wasn't the only one haording it! |
Annie,
I checked your blog and your cards/tote are very nice. I couldn't post a comment (I wasn't sure which profile to choose and don't think I belong to any of them) but this is what I wrote before I realized I couldn't post: "Lovely paper and your creations showcase them beautifully. Happy Crafting! Tina aka TeeGeeDee" ** ETA - I think you need to have 3+ posts before links get posted (so I just copied and posted into my browser). And, more importantly, your work does not look at all amateurish and SU is nott he only company with beautiful apper, stamps, etc. My wallet shops everywhere! |

If you don't mind my amateur work and non-SU paper, I had started a blog to archive cards I've made recently. My absolute favorites so far are these: lovemecard.blogspot.com/2010/06/pun-fun.html Of course I would be honored if you checked out my other posts too. :)

I made a cute card last night--I'll try and get a photo today. I covered the envelope flap with DP. Looked classy.
Please send me more ideas, I'm in my studio today. I'll let you know how many sheets of DP I use! Anybody want to play?? |

You can either check out my blog (link in siggy) or gallery: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=186647 |

Don't forget you can always use them for embellies - flowers, flourishes, paper ribbon, etc. My favorite lately is decorating SU's die cut box "Fancy Favor". It's a good size open box and can be stored flat if you don't pull the adhesive off the bottom (I use score tape which is wonderful). Kimberly Van Diepen has a wonderful video tutorial where she demonstrates how to put paper lace on the top of the boxes. Just too cute. Her blog where this is posted in Dec 2009 is http://stampinbythesea.com. You'll love it.

I have this card bookmarked to make at some point. The blog I'm posting also has a lot of cards using pp and you may want to browse through it.

This card is one of my favorite layouts for using DP! I have made many variations of this card. I have a sticky note with the block dimensions on my idea board. They are 2x 2 1/8 and 2x 3 1/8. Fun, fun card!

I'm always looking for good layouts using patterned paper. Here are three different layouts I did recently for a class.

Love all the ideas so far-thanks for sharing everyone!
"Quilts" are always fun to make with scraps and a 1" square punch. (Here's another one) |

Just looking at some of my 'favorites', this card uses DP in a classy way.
|
These cards would have to be my favorites. I had to go way back in my gallery because I find I'm using less DP these days.
|
Some cute ones from my favorites that use larger pieces of DP. And I've favorited several more from the ones everyone else has listed here!
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...=0&thumbcheck= this was from yesterday's listings http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...=0&thumbcheck= http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...=0&thumbcheck= http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...=0&thumbcheck= http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...=0&thumbcheck= http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...=0&thumbcheck= |
These pocket fold cards give a new flare to the pocket fold. They are not mine, but Barb (who made these cards) showed a small group of us how to put them together. They're fun to make, pretty impressive IRL and use a sheet of 12x12 double sided DP (although I'm sure a crafty stamper could switch it up in some way)

I just uploaded my very first card! Take a look, it uses DP. Doing the happy dance!
|
Your card looks great! Your original post inspired me to use up some scraps on a card. It was great! Probably the fastest I've ever made a card. It was basically the same layout as this card you uploaded. Super cute, BTW.
I just found another use for some DP-- gift wrap. I pulled out a piece that I probably wasn't going to use from one of my stacks and wrapped a DVD present for a friend. Annie My Blog |

These cards are all beautiful! I think I'm always a little afraid of using DP. Always thinking everything has to match perfectly. You all have inspired me. I will over come my fear and use up the loads of DP I have!!!

This is an awesome thread! Thanks, everyone for the ideas!

subbing to read - I have the SAME PROBLEM! LOL ;)

I've enjoyed reading and looking at everyones ideas so I thought I would add one of my DP entries. Like mtgchic, I love quilts too.
