Has anyone ever noticed?
Has anyone ever noticed that when you start purging and organizing, you end up buying more stuff? It's like that book, "If you give a mouse a cookie." At the start of a new year, I get a new me. With the new me, I get a new lease on life and start purging. When I start to purge, I need to re-group my new "groups" of stuff. When I start to re-group, I need a new special container to go with my new look. With my new special container, I need my other containers to match. And so on and so on. IT NEVER ENDS!!!
It's like re-arranging chairs on the Titanic around here!

I have been involved in a move-the-studio whole house remodeling for two months! I think my idea of organizing is just moving stuff from room to room

Oh my, yes indeed! It is the neverending story - the search for the perfect organization. I love your analogy of the Titanic!

Tell me about it! I decided to re-organize my embossing stuff: heat gun, EP [lots of them], embossing ink into a container that I can take to my kitchen island [where I like to emboss since there's an outlet I can easily plug into]. Well, none of the containers I have at home will work, either too small or too large so tomorrow I need to go shopping with measurements so that I don't wind up with another container waiting for something to fill it!!

You're right, AndreaSheldon. I started organizing my paper stacks, and I bought some JetMax cubes. Now I've bought a bookshelf, 2 file cabinets, and 2 more JetMax cubes for my craft room!

Oh dear, that almost sounds discouraging.
I'm in the process of properly organinzing all my supplies for the first time. This is a project I anticipate will take about six months, but I've made it my new creative outlet. Once I've finished it I don't intend to do it again.
I'll admit that what I was once spending on crafts, I now spend on organizing. I find one of the most expensive aspects of my organization, is also the smallest thing - label tape for my label maker. I went to town to buy some tape today and I was very fortunate it was on special, so I stocked up.

LOL This just made me laugh! It's sooo me. Although I've tried really hard to stick with my new organizational method for a while (2 years), so no new containers or "look". But I do know the feeling- I am getting the urge to purge right about now. And I know if I do I'll just want to buy new stuff!!

Love your Titanic analogy!
I just claim to be a "work in progress" so nobody has any expectations - even me!
Of course, the flip side of this "freedom" is that I have to move stuff around in my craft room all the time to just get at other stuff that is stored in it! What's wrong with this picture?????
Wouldn't it be great to win a professional organizer to do a craft room? That Original Scrapbox is cool, but someone to do it would be even better! LOL
