Hi, everyone! I've tried using the search function to look for this, but I can't seem to get it to give me anything. I'm working on redo-ing my craft room and was wondering if anyone else has used bed risers like you get at the home store to raise their table? If so, how did they work for you? Were they stable enough and did the table still seem strong enough (didn't bow or shift)? I have just a regular 6 ft folding table, but sometimes it just seems kind of short, even for me and I'm a shorty myself. Plus I figure it'll give me more storage room underneath. But I don't want to use the risers to just find out they cause the table to be rickety and unstable, or bow or shift over time. Any help or info you could give would be much appreciated!

I am using bed risers with a square table. It has been working well although there are some days I wish it was a little higher. It is on a carpeted floor. It is designed to hold a bed so I figure it can hold a table fine.
If you have one of those folding tables with the tubular metal legs...I have seen where folks use the appropriate length of the right size of PVC pipe to raise the legs of their table. Get the sturdy kind of PVC.
Basically, you are shoving a long piece of pipe onto the legs of the table up to the bend. The pipe needs to be the length from the bend to the bottom of the table leg plus the extra height you want.

My DH made some PVC extended legs for the table I take to workshops.
I put my supplies and projects on it and display cards and products. It works great and my back doesn't hurt at the end of the workshop.
I bought a 6 foot table at Costco and the height is adjustable. I have my table raised as high as it will go and it is just perfect for me. Sometimes I sit on a stool and it works just fine.
If you work sitting down how about a hydraulic chair that you can adjust to a low setting? Not a good idea if you work standing up though, just a thought.

thank you for sharing this link. A recent hip replacement has caused me pain when sitting on folding chairs. Your link showed how to extend the height of the folding chairs by adding to the legs. I am thinking I could get my DH to make a set of those for me. Then I could take them with me when attending church meetings where I know I will have to use a folding chair. Just need something to remind me to always take them home with me.:rolleyes:

I currently use bed risers for my table and they work great! Before I had them though, I had large cans (30 oz) of tomato sauce that I used! It sounds super weird but I was desperate and it worked!
