Being able to read guitar sheet music can be an invaluable asset in today's world. I'm not telling something new by reminding you that there is a lot of competition in today's guitar market. You need every advantage you can muster. Before we go any further let's first answer one basic question: isn't being able to read guitar tablature good enough? If you're looking to distinguish yourself or make a living as a guitarist then the answer would be NO. This is by no means negates the importance of tab, but in a world that's often so saturated with guitar players, knowing how to read notation can make the difference between success and failure.This isn't to dismiss tabs, but in today's guitar scene just about everybody knows how to read tab .
