    Hi Lesley

I haven't been on Splitcoast much because I'm doing my Master's degree and teaching full time with the CBE. I'm sincerely sorry I didn't get your message sooner, but I am responding as soon as I saw it today.

I highly recommend our organization, Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society. Here is a link to currently available animals, and there are many more behind the scenes. With AARCS, you fill out an application, have a phone interview, then go visit the animal. This process can take as little as 48 hours because the only animals on the website are ready to be adopted. Personally, I have a mom that was flown to us 2 weeks ago, and she whelped her litter last weekend. I have 8, 1 week old puppies in the dog run right now! They will be on the website, along with mama in about 8 weeks.

I really hope this helps, despite being late information, and call me at 403-274-9631.

It has been some time since we've had any contact (I loaned you an SU catalogue in 2006 when I got mine early and we met in person at a Copic certification class), but this has to do with your dog-fostering more than your craft genius

We have friends who moved over from England a few years back with their rescue dog. Sadly, he went to the Rainbow Bridge last week, and my friend's hubby (retired) is really feeling the loss during the day when his wife and stepdaughter are out. They have filled out applications at many of the rescue foundations & at the Calgary Humane Society, but the process here isn't as quick as it is in England. They see the necessity to ensure the dogs are ready to be moved & that the adoptive families are suitable, but are equally frustrated that there are dogs out there needing good homes & knowing they have plenty of love to offer.

Is there any advice you can give?

    Thanks,

    Lesley Williams
