This is terrific! I've tried and failed to match up my PC pencils to the pads I have...now I know it's because my set is an older version.

Great info for the pencils! So how do all of you store your pencils? I have the big 120 set in a tin....plus a bunch of the singles that didn't come in it.

Also....does anyone have information on Markers that would match the in-colors? What brand and color/#. Maybe last year's in-colors too

Diane, do you have a color to match Basic Grey? I am about 30 pencils away from having the complete set (plus most of the retired decos and neons). But the greys are one thing I still need to buy.

I store mine in an awesome pencil case that I purchased from Dick Blick. Zippers shut and hold them wonderfully. Great for traveling. Some store theirs in jars by color grouping. If anyone is interested in getting the case from Dick Blick, please let me know. Ebates is doing a promo right now and if you accept an invitation from me (via e-mail) to join then we both get a $10 credit! Hard to beat that.....and they don't charge you anything to be a member. Here is the link to the case.

http://www.dickblick.com/zz229/96/

I have the 120 case as well as the 24 case.

As to the grey pencils......I thought I would never use all those grays but I sure do. They have 5 different percentages in three different grays. Cool, warm and french at 10, 20, 30, 50, 70 percent. I use the 10,30 & 50% the most.

I just got my prismas. I thought 72 would be enough. Guess not. I'll have to see which ones I need. Does Micheal's or Joann's sell singles?

Michael's does, not sure about Joann's. Hobby Lobby also has them, but both stores don't have them all. I am lucky enough to live near a Dick Blick store, so I get most of mine there.

Basic Gray...I am using 1056 Warm Gray 70%.

Now, I hope nobody shoots me, but I found a color that is closer...WAY closer for Wasabi...and that is 1096 Kelly Green. It's just that Dick Blick shipped me two espresso pencils and no kelly green...and I just got a replacement. But it is PERFECT for Wasabi!!!!

To all of you who have been so faithful in following this thread:

You are all so great!

Now that you have downloaded the samples sheet to color in your colors...I have updated the file in post #1 to include a second page. It has the In Colors and Retired colors. Also included the Basic Gray in the neutrals.

Have fun!

I have been following your posts for a few weeks and wanted to thank you all for sharing such great info - I use the markers more than the pencils and I saw someone earlier mentioned those. I didn't bring my list to work, but I will post my list of the marker colors tonight when I get home if it is OK to post that here.
Thanks!!

Thank you again Diane!! I was going to upload my list as soon as I got a color for Basic Gray, but I am glad you beat me to it.

This is so great! I have prisma's from YEARS ago and spent yesterday afternoon mapping these all out. I ordred my missing pencils AND the cool case that was referenced, all from Dick Blick (shipping sure was expensive!).

Thanks for the updated sheet, I will go fix my print-out. I was looking for a place to organize all the In-Colors and Retireds, and this helps out! (The other thing I am going to do is to re-sort the document in the order of the SU! marker listing. I am a bit AR, and I have all my apaper, ink, etc colors sorted that way.)

One question about colors... I am a bit color dyslexic (or blind, insert your word choice here .... I LOVE the Prismacolor poppy red (922). I used to use it all the time before SU!. What colors would it go with... which green, which yellow, which blue? This is sort-of off topic I guess, I just cannot part with that color! I would love to incorporate it into my SU! family in a way that is not mmmm ugly!

TIA,

Lela

Default same data, different sort order

OHhhh, I realize now they are sorted in rainbow color (or something along those lines!!) Well, I have all my stuff sorted by SU! marker order (random, but it is the way I chose! So, I re-arranged the files to be in that sort order. I also took the data and put it into Excel for sorting. This may be only useful to me, and it is no judgment or statement of how things should work. I am just SO SO SO SO GRATEFUL to SCSers for all you do, that since I had it anyway I thought I would post.

Thanks again to OP for all this work -- I am so color challenged, and I am SO grateful for this you cannot imagine!

Lela

Still talking to myself

OMG, I just colored swatches for all the pencils I have, and then compared them visually with my paper swatches. They are PERFECT!!! THANK YOU!!! How did you do it!!

One thing I did notice in all of my activity, is that the "Forest Foliage" references "Peacock Green" as number 917 and that is not the number. It is #907. (Told you I was AR

Blessings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marvelous Magenta - Mulberry pm-53
Tempting Turquoise - Light Blue pm-47
Yo Yo Yellow - Canary Yellow pm-19

So what is the big deal about Prisma? They have both pencils and markers I understand. Are they a lot better than SU makers?

I want to thank you so much for the comparision chart. Then someone on here mentioned a person on Ebay that sells the Prisma colored pencils. Well I got my chart out last night around midnight, went to the site, found about 20pencils that I wanted and ordered them. She sent me an email today and they have already been shipped. The best thing, the prisma pencils are only 85 cents and shipping is only .05 cents after the first pencil. I'm going to get my chart out and order some more. I feel so happy!!!! Even on sale Michaels can't beat .85 cents and delivered to my door. Again, Thank You to everyone!!! Now I see the marker chart - WOW!!

Default prisma markers matched to SU! colors

I looked and I have a few more color matches for the prisma markers to SU! colors. I was in a hurry to go to bed last night and left a few matches out
:0) . Here's a few more matches if anyone is interested.

Close to cocoa - Mocha Dark PM-200
Glorious Green - Parrot Green PM-32
Sage Green - Celadon Green PM-140
Tempting Turquoise - Aquamaring PM-37
Bliss Blue - Sky Blue Light PM-202
Certainly Celery - PM-197

Soft Sky - PM-191

These are the colors I have matched so far - if I come up with any more I will update. I have a Dick Blick locally and I buy most of my prisma markers there. I know HL also sells them, but the stock is pretty small.
Dick Blick sells them online too - just like the pencils at www.DickBlick.com

Thank you for sharing this! Now if I only had all the colors-have started with my set of 12 that I found at garage sale for $1. I think I will have to pick up a few to match my favorite SU colors.

Sorry for the confusion - they are only 1 shade different - but I just found pm 37 yesterday - and it is a better match. I edited the list so it won't be confusing anymore.
Thanks :0)

Thanks to all of you that worked on this! I have been wanting to get some of the Prisma markers but didn't know where to start. I found a new set of 12 on eBay (Primary and Secondary) for $14.99 and now I know which ones in the set will match SU. I am always amazed at the sharing on this site, all of you are just so nice!

Default Prismacolor pencils

I'm thinking about jumping on this bandwagon and found an AWESOME deal on the 132 set at www.utrechtart.com Do I really need all 132 or is it overkill. Is there one PC set that has 90% of all the SU colors and I just need to buy the rest on open stock? Also...something must be up with the SCS server because I cannot open the attachment. Anyone else having that problem?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
