There is a whole Big Shot FAQ thread in the tools and products forum.

There is also at Cuttlebug FAQ thread as well. Both are sticky threads.

Kristen-
Have you been able to get the cake to cut like it should cut?

I have two questions. Indigo Inkling mentioned that she uses a magnetic paper. I would love to get one that will fit in the Cuttlebug. Does anyone know where I can find one?
Second question is almost embarassing to ask, but do the Cuttlekids dies work in the Cuttlebug? The web site I was on states specifically that they can only be used in the Cuttlekid machine.

Hi
The magnetic paper I found was at the printer paper. It is like an A4 (printer size paper) and it is .03mm thick. So really thin! I do not live in the States or one of the big places like, UK, Canada and other, so if I could find it here, I am sure you would have NO PROBLEM finding it in your stores! LOL! I cut mine to fit the size of my A plate. They go through the machine like a charm. Hope you will find some.

Hi Did you try adding a piece of cardstock between your A plate and B plate. That helps to show the creases better. If you don't want it to cut and only crease, then you should use the crease pad. Yes, you can cut any crease pad to fit the cuttlebug! Hope this helps.

Thanks! Now that I know it will work, I will look more closely at the dies. Haven't wanted to buy one without knowing for sure!

Carol - welcome to Splitcoast Stampers forums! i'm glad you found my thread. unfortunately, i don't own a Big Shot, so really can't offer any specific assistance with stacks. however, in our TOOLS forum, you'll find threads specific to the Big Shot like this one: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...d.php?t=374557

SCS also has a buy/sell/trade forum you should check out!

Default Matchbox Die?

Has anyone used the matchbox die successfully with their cuttlebug?
I read the wonderful post on Inkie's Blog. I didn't want to buy the die until I know someone had used it successfully.

Thanks!!!

I have successfully used the Matchbox die with my cuttlebug.

I also have the pop up cake die. I was trying the different sandwich combinations and putting plate one after each other to try and mimick a long sandwich plate. None of those seemed to work. SO....here is what I did. I am fortunate and live close to a tap plastic store. It is a store that cuts various types of plastic (or acrylic) they have a website you can look it up on google. I had them cut a 1/4 inch thick piece of acyrlic to the dimensions of 5 7/8 by 13 3/4.

To cut the matchbox or pop up cake, I take the SU die, put the 1/4 inch thick acrylic on top of that and then a piece of cardboard from the back of one the SU designer series paper packs, then roll the combination through my cuttlebug.

So, I made up a chart on Cuttlebug Sandwich Stacks based on info I found on the boards, and PMs from users that had tried some unique things.

This list is NOT complete, but I'll add to it and repost if SCSers have additional findings. Hopefully, someone else will find this as useful as I have.

Enjoy!

NOTE: The Cuttlebugs tend to differ in space inside the machine, so be sure to ERR ON THE THIN SIDE when putting new stacks into your machine!
Hi Cat,

Has there been any update on whether or not the SU Texturz plates will work with the Cuttlebug and what the recipe would be? I have a customer wanting to purchase a LOT of plates to use with her Cuttlebug to help me get out of pending status, but I can't find an answer for her. Please help!!

I have not managed to get mine to work. But I haven't tried, um, plumber's gasket? And I don't have a thin mousepad. I've heard "moisten the cardstock" but really.....

if your customer is looking for a sure and easy stack to make these work - I haven't found it. I searched this thread AFTER I got mine (just one set), and have not been successful.

Yes, you can! Here is the sandwich I use bottom to top:
2 Cereal Box Shims (remember not all cereal boxes are the same thickness, so you may need to alter this)
Plate A
Texture Plate
Card Stock
Rubber Sheet (Plumbers gasket rubber or tan embossing mat from Spellbinders)
Plate B (sorry I forgot to add this one before)

You can emboss without misting; however, if you mist your card stock with either water or rubbing alcohol, you will get a crisper impression. I prefer alcohol, since it dries much faster.
