PKP010 Technique (05/16/18)
Challenge: stamp on your photos Keyword: PKP010
Hostess: Melissa (mollymoo951)
Welcome to the wonderful world of pocket pages! An introduction to the challenge can be found here. <--click for details
It's a the third Wednesday of the month. Time a technique challenge! Let's **gasp** stamp on your photos. Yes, really.
You will need:
a photo with some "white space".
a permanent ink to stamp directly on glossy photos. Versafine Onyx Black is my preferred ink for stamping on photos. You can use Ranger Archival Ink or Staz-On - I don't own any Ranger Archival Ink and I find Staz-On to be too sticky to provide satisfactory results.
a light, steady hand or a stamp positioning tool (MISTI). If you stamp with a "heavy" hand, it may slide and smear. It doesn't take much pressure to get a good impression when using permanent or pigment inks on glossy surfaces.
patience. This has to dry completely or it will smear.
Some other ideas:
You could heat emboss. Use anti-static powder / tool on your photo. Stamp with Versamark or pigment ink. Apply powder. Run your heat gun to get it really hot BEFORE you apply heat to the embossing powder on the photo. Then keep the heat gun at a distance from the photo as you heat the powder.
Experiment with other inks. I want to try this with Tim Hotlz Distress Oxides.
Hope this is a fun technique for you to try. It will add interest to your pages without adding bulk.
Create your pocket page featuring stamping on photos and come back, share with us in the gallery. Post a link to your project in this thread so we will be sure to see it! Copy and paste the keywords above when posting your project to the gallery.

Sharon, I've watched some Ali Edwards videos where she has done it too....I think Melissa's tip about using Versafine Onyx Ink is the way to go. Enjoy and happy day

Makes me a twinge nervous to stamp on photos - what if I mess up? - it's not like I can drag out another piece of cardstock, but I can print another photo - using a MISTI helps. Then when it's done - WOW!

I've created a few more that I have stamped on photos and will add these to the May thread in bulk. Happy day
