I am new to scrapbooking. I am finding lots of scrapbook sketches however they only have 1 - 3 pictures. I am looking for some examples with multiple pictures in the layouts. Please help if you can.
I think that there's lots to see at SCS but there's another site that has a few too. http://www.pagemaps.com/ I don't think they have any examples that are finished, I think they just have sketches.
I am the same way-----I like to more than 1 or 2 photos on my layouts. Here are a few from my gallery to get you started. A lot of them were Scrapbook Challenges on SCS that I adapted for multiple photos.
I like pages with lots of pictures too. I just did my very first scrapbook, (you can see it in my gallery). I just winged it - never having done it before. I would do the layouts on each page about a week apart, so each layout has a different feel to them.
It was fun, but I couldn't wait for it to be done, because it did take me a long time, and I'm usually not that patient and want quicker satisfaction, which is why I usually make cards and such. But I know I'll keep doing it! ;)

If you go to the jpg archives there are photos of pages done with the sketches. I LOVE Becky Fleck's sketches! She's even got a book coming out this year too!
There are also the Becky Higgins sketches that almost always have LOTS of photos on them. Here are some of them HTH
Ooooohhhh! those are some great sketches! Can you tell me if there's a way for me to look at those thumbnails a little bigger? You mentioned jpg archives? Take pity on a newbie and tell me how to find them - please :o)
I like alot of pictures on my LO's too, unless I have one picture that just begs to be alone. I have some LO's on my blog I don't know how to upload here yet.

Ever since I got a digital camera I take so many pictures, it's hard to choose which ones to use. I LOVE a simple mosaic as much as the next girl, but it's so nice to see some other ideas.
I also love pictures of finished layouts, but there's something about a sketch that really sends my imagination soaring. I know, backwards right? But when I see a finished layout that I want to scraplift, I never manage to have just the right colours or elements to make it work.
I know I've said this on other similar threads, but my favorite technique is to use quilt patterns. You can journal in some of the areas, or use coordinating colors instead of photos. HTH.

You know, I haven't seen much of this technique. Anything you'd care to post so I could follow your lead?

I like putting lots of photos on a page too! (I take too many photos.) But then once in a while a certain photo just wants to be by itself.
I often find cropping to a square size if possible helps with arranging many photos in the same layout.
Location: Panama (the country), used to be Florida, but I've got an APO military address so like USA shipping

I've just gotten back into scrapbooking again after taking a hiatus due to my 2 kids being so young. Those are GREAT ideas for multiple photos...I'd also have like 4 pages of the same theme...too many pics, not enough page...should we suggest a larger size paper? LOL.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cutting and pasting, ribbons & brads. Capturing your memories with scrapbooking is a whole bunch of fun. I think the magazines do focus more on the artistic pages more so than telling a story with pictures. I began scrapping when our second child, a son, started high school. Our daughter had kept a scrap book and I knew he would enjoy having one. I did not particularly follow a chronological order but chose topics : Neil's wheels (pictures of his wagon, big wheel, bike, dirt bike, first car); best friends; summertime; Growing, growing, Gone (as in out of the house). Special dances adn dates, graduation, and other important events I combined with a copy of the lunch menu for that day or a copy of the menu from a restaurant. I entered his class schedules, ROTC activities, and (lots of)baseball in two different albums. The first auto accident he was involved in (his friend was driving) deserved two pages. I tend to do two pages most of the thime. I combine current pics with some from the past that mimic the same attitude or pose. Our son shows off his scrapbooks proudly to new guys who come over and now they're in college! I hope that gives you some ideas. I use my scrapbooking skills to make cards and vice versa!
subscribing...great ideas ladies! I especially love teh kiwiscraps layouts, printed them out already and put with my scrapbooking stuff to try one out next time!
Hi everyone,
I also love to scrapbook with lots of pictures on a page, I love the Becky Higgins sketchs. Just a FYI, Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking magazine has a Becky Higgins sketch every month along with a lot of scrapped ideas and variations of the sketch. I recently used a bunch of ideas from the magazine to finish a trip that had a ton of pictures. I got the whole trip done in about 15 pages. The most pictures I got on a page was 19!! I was soo impressed with myself!! LOL
I'm like you, I always have a hard time with the layout ideas that only have 1 picture on them. I have done a few, and they went together more easily, but most of the time I've got a lot more pictures. I second the Becky Higgins idea, except in the newer book she tends to use a lot of odd-sized photos (she prints them herself) so I can't really follow those ideas. You can break up a big photo with several smaller ones, I know, but it doesn't have the same effect IMO.
Some of Becky's sketches are on the Creating Keepsakes website, organized by number of photos, http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/mag/sketches/
but way more are in her books (most likely available at LSS or Amazon).
I've uploaded a couple of ideas:
This one utilizes an extra half page (attached with CM photo tape, or the super tacky red tape) because I wanted to add a History of my town and maps and had already used the next page...Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
same with flap open: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Sorry for the poor quality photos, I didn't feel like wrestling the page protectors off and forgot to take a picture beforehand (the Kolo album pp's are a very tight fit).
Here's another one taken directly from Becky's book, but you can fit lots of pics... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Another one, kind of busy but I had lots of pictures from this baby shower: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Lastly, another one that has 7 photos, by using hidden journaling (it went on the tag that slides under the top left photo, I took the pic before it was done): Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
HTH, and thanks all of you for sharing your ideas!

I know I'm late to this, but also-- "cut" the pictures in sketches to different size, or in half. Just because it uses 2 pictures, doesn't mean you can't alter it to fit 6 pictures by having "weird sizes" outside of what they say.

Becky Higgins books have some great examples, too, and most of her sketches have TONS of photos on them.
