Default Ideas for a guy's scrapbook?

I'm making a mini-scrapbook for my Uncle of pictures of him when he was little. He wouldn't like anything that would resemble something girly (He doesn't think guys should wear pink or say words like mauve or lavendar) so I have to make this as manly as possible. Are there any sites or places to go for ideas for a guy's scrapbook? I love embellishments but I don't want to make it too frilly for him! I'd like it to be somthing he would keep as memories of growing up.

I know www.scrapjazz.com is now having a competition that involves guy scrapbook layouts, so you might go there.

I think guy books look good with:

plad
earth tones
leaves (guy replacement for floral)
geometrics
metal accents
staples
twill tape

Here's just a few...

I agree with stampysister - all those colors, metals, plaids, etc are great for guys. Memory Makers has one of their themed books all about guy layouts. Check their website. I have the one of theirs about boys, but they have another one for men too. Here's the link: http://www.memorymakersmagazine.com/...x?categoryID=7

I just got the December issue of Scrapbook Answers, and there is a 4 page article in there written by a guy about how to do guy scrapbook pages. He made 3 pages himself and gives a lot of tips about what you should and should not include on pages. I found it interesting to read about scrapbook pages from a guy's perspective.

Karen Foster and K&Company both have some really great guy paper, sticker and embellishments. Just about everyone carries them.

If most of the pictures are from when he was little, you could use some of the "kid style" stamps. Here's a card by stampinvicki .....

I have a couple 'nature' scrapbook pages in my gallery that could be used for guy type pages. They are earth tones & pretty simple.

I recently bought some brads that look like screws (ABC distributing) -- I have never bought from them before-- but they had great hinges and brads. I'm not interested in much else fromthem- but those are so well worth the couple of bucks I tossed out at them-- so-- my suggestion-- hardware-- lots of brads, buckles, metalic colors, textured papers that look like leather (or make them with brown stamp pads). Even use leather strips instead of ribbon! -- noooow that idea came from left field.. I think I might try that myself
