Inspiration Challenge 46 - Wood Panels

This picture of beautiful Horchow wood panels was sent to me by Susan (aka Rainy).

OK, so I am linking to my creation a few days later...but I got it done :) . My Sample.

There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild -- be *inspired* and go get stamping!

REMINDER: Please put IC46 in the keywords box when you upload your card (no space b/n IC and the challenge number) . If you have more than one keyword use a comma to separate them. Thanks!

Hey, I'm first (maybe!) Looks like a little bamboo in there -- no bamboo at my house! But I've got an iris! See what I can come up with. Thanks, Karen.

MyPrecious 10-21-2006 05:23 AM

What is Crate paper?

GramCandy 10-21-2006 07:10 AM

Immediately thought of weathered for this project. Here is my first attempt.
Think I may need to try again.

I'm going to get to this as soon as I cook, nap, etc. It's a beautiful inspiration piece--maybe I'll dream about it when I take my nap and come up with a great approach to it! ;0)

Clownmom 10-21-2006 10:55 AM

Thanks, Karen and Susan, for the wonderful inspiration. Here's my card --

And we still don't know what Crate Paper is!

Kathyc 10-21-2006 12:22 PM

Isn't Crate paper one of the new lines of patterned papers that are so fab? I thought it's what Trudee used on a few pieces for last months DD gallery but no. Here's a link to their web site: http://www.cratepaper.com/page/page/3692363.htm

I really like this inspiration piece and hope to get a chance to play; I have to finish 20 cards for a swap for tomorrow!

SeattleStamper 10-21-2006 12:24 PM

I've been away on a business trip all week and this is my first stamped item in a week, oh the horror! This was just the challenge I needed to get me back in the stamping room again. So much fun.

sleepyinseattle 10-21-2006 12:24 PM

This is a gorgeous inspiration piece!
After spending an hour trying to find my iris stamp without success, I settled for the Heartfelt Thanks flower. I'm sure I'll find it when I'm not looking for it :)

rainy 10-21-2006 01:56 PM

When I first saw these wood panels I thought they would be an easy inspiration piece. I was wrong! I have been working (ok.. playing) on this card for hours! Just couldn't seem to get something I liked. But ended up with this:

lacyquilter 10-21-2006 02:10 PM

Well, this took way too long and was really an emerging process, but I'm thrilled with the result. Here's my inspired art.

Rox71 10-21-2006 03:02 PM

Mine is done and it took some thinking and once again advice from my husband...Karen you are forcing us to bond! I asked his opinion on the squares placement. He thought I would be over doing it with the brads so don't tell him I used them and he'll never know!

Here's my card

alcesalces 10-21-2006 03:24 PM

This is my first time playing in the Inspiration Challenge! Go me! And this one was a challenge. I had to modify my original brainstorm quite a bit to get it to work (or at least work to my satisfaction!)

artlikefastfood 10-21-2006 04:36 PM

Man, was I stumped at first on how to translate the inspiration image, but I like my end results. Here they are:

Pure-Genius 10-21-2006 05:03 PM

Here's my card
This was a very cool challenge. I made a card thats not in keeping with my usual style. Thanks for the great idea.

badmom66666 10-21-2006 06:53 PM

Okay, I am home and ready to play....going to the basement and hopefully will post within 45 minutes, already got and idea floating in my pea sized brain!

I am back with "Three Shades of HOPE" .....thanks for looking!

ROX.....was 51 minutes from the time I went to the basement, made the card, scanned it, uploaded it and posted on this thread.....good practice for NOVVSN!

bensarmom 10-21-2006 07:54 PM

Karen you're the BEST
Karen, Thanks once again for a Fantastic challenge! Here's mine entitled, Gold Flowers.

auntynanny 10-21-2006 08:27 PM

Not sure why, but I looked at this card and thought of Pearl Ex. I did think of Gold Pearl Ex but it got lost somewhere on my cluttered desk.......so silver it was.

Vervegirl 10-21-2006 08:36 PM

I was inspired by the deep colors and the gold on red in the panel. I had some gold squares like on the panel, but ended up removing them because there was just too much going on. Thanks for the inspiration, those panels are gorgeous!

A Gift

janarah 10-21-2006 08:51 PM

This is not at all what I originally had in mind but I think I will try again tomorrow when I am not so tired. Thanks for looking.
